  • Morning all,

Dogs have been walked, OH is fixing the car, I'm off to do some plastic recycling then clean and tidy. I truly am living the dream.....

I'm STILL waiting for my job to confirm whether I'm starting on Monday - I've done everything I can with regards to them getting the references they need, they no just need to make up their mind (or pull their finger out). I may give them a call later on, but don't want to come across as a pain.... If they decide I'm not starting until the end of March, I'm going to apply for other jobs as I'm not hugely impressed with the way this is going.

We're out tonight with mum for Chinese New Year, so dad's staying in and looking after the dogs - he's a grumpy old man at the best of time, more so when going out.

    Right, best get on.

    Have a good day all.

    T xx

Morning all, just a quick one before uni, i'll be back later. Fever and pains were much worse last night, I feel so silly, I called my mum almost crying and one of my flatmates kept checking on me and helping me down the stairs to go for a wee because I was so shakey! Second round of paracetamol/ibuprofen got rid of it enough for me to sleep thank god! Now I'm leaving for the first lecture of one of my modules in half an hour and I've got chills and pains again! I've taken paracetamol/ibuprofen and really hope it kicks in soon :(
I anticipate it'll be worse tonight so will take something as soon as it starts and get into bed as i'm in 9-4 tomorrow with no breaks!

    Hi all

Hugs to all who need and want one!

Day off for me :j, can't say it's been overly productive though.....guy came to fit my hands free in the car (work car) with the wrong cables and bracket (not his fault though), walked doglet and made a couple of urgent cards. However I have managed to plant some seeds........:j:j:j, that makes it feel almost Spring-like! Just some peppers and lemon coriander on the kitchen window cill.

WM been on and there's plenty of bread so no need for baking. Might make some flap jacks tonight to take for my boss and colleagues tomorrow for the grand office clear out!

    Have good afternoons

    Nic - (((hugs))) you poor thing x x x x

had a horrible experience myself this morning. :(The house I clean for was burgled - I went in to find it had been ransacked - a right mess. The elderly lady it belongs to is in America until the end of April. Her neighbours and I rang the police who to their credit were there really quickly as were the forensic people. I've left them to it now.
The neighbour is going to ring her in America later as she'll have lots to do informing her bank etc.
We are not used to crime like this where I live - it is a very small close-knit town where we all feel relatively secure.
There will be a lot of cleaning up to do eventually. They didn't take anything large - seems to be jewellery and paperwork they were after.
I'm still a bit wobbly, had a coffee and a chat to the neighbour as she felt the same - its such a shock.

How do some people sleep at night?

thanks for the get well vibes for ds. the poor thing was lying on his blanket on the floor and coughed which made him bring all the water he had to drink up :( he's asleep on some towels on the sofa. we're taking it in turns to sit with him and sleep lol

i dont think either of us are going to be feeling hungry later somehow but we've decided if we are then we'll get a takeaway.

right back to cleaning! my house smells like a swimming pool :o:rotfl:

Nic2lou sending you lots of positive vibes, keep your chin up
Adelight I had something very similar to what your describing in my 20's. It turned out I had Glandular Fever. Have you had a blood test?
Taplady Oh my goodness, that's awful. The mind boggles as to what these people are thinking and I truly think they have no idea of how badly they affect people. Its a good job she has good neighbours like yourself. When something like that happens I try and think that most people would do you a good turn and that its the tiny minority with no respect for themselves or anyone else. Take it easy today ((((hugs)))
LouLou (((hugs for your little chap)))

  • taplady - thats horrific. it boggles my mind how these people live and breathe its disgusting. may god have mercy!

Niclou - hope you are ok (hugs)

didnt make it on here yesterday, choir rehearsals got very heated. I kind of lost it really. Sick and tired of all these creative types coming up with great ideas about what to do then NOTHING GETS DONE. none of them have a business mind which is what i have and its painful to watch at times. anyway, very nearly told them to stick it up their you know whats, but went out for five mins to calm down instead.
Rang a couple of bills people this morning, renegotiated better repayments on stuff to try and allow overpaying on more expensive debts. sigh!

landlady has sorted out new carpets to be fitted this monday, very exciting. last bit for the decorating really.

anyway, OS wise, WM on, litter trays cleaned, windows open (freezing but fresher!) paperwork recycled, now to have a brew and watch the good wife. :D

Bah got a headache :( Taken some paracetamol so hopefully it will ease. Not feeling in the mood for any cleaning as of yet so will try and fit that in before the afternoon school run. Dough in in BM and will cook that shortly. Fancy some cinnamon buns although I am sure the waistline won't thank me for it :o:o Mind you I've just had some HM apple pie and custard so perhaps I ought to give the buns a miss for today :eek:

Nic1 - don't disappear, even if you want to rant and offload feel free to do so to us. Sorry it all seems to be getting worse, hope things improve for you soon xx

adelight - hugs for you feeling poorly, hope you're better soon x

Tappers - how awful but really these people sleep fine. So self centred they think of nothing of what they want and they take it. Doesn't matter if someone else has grafted to get it as long as they can get it the easy way.

Loulou - Got any ripe bananas your DS could eat, can be good for bunging them up IYSWIM. Hope he's better soon xx

beemuzed - hope DS is OK xxx

    Afternoon all,

Freezing here.....wind would shave the hairs from a gooseberry! Its to rain later which will really help....not. Still am glad I'm not in Northern Queensland or Chicago, they are really having it tough. Think that everyone I know is safe, the furthest south that there is problem seems to be Mackay...so the rellies in Brisbane and Aussie on Lamb Island should be fine.

Roast chicken with mixed steamed veg for dinner and roast potatoes, easy enough as car is in for service and will have to be collected at some stage....and paid for which will be painful as clip on one of the back seatbelts is broken and part alone costs €80! Still as it is now 9 years old I need to mind it as can't think about changing for at least another couple of years.

    Nic....hugs....it will get better, honestly.

    Taplady....hugs to you, terrible experience.

Adelight....should you be up and about, really sounds as if a couple of days in bed would help greatly.

HH...good luck with meeting. Minimum wage here has been reduced from €8.65 per hour to €7.65...apparently it was too high, more people have been taken into tax net as there is a new charge which everybody earning over €4k pa has to pay...2% on first €10k, 4% on next €5k and 7% on anything over that....its not income tax as such, called universal service charge and pays for ????

Really need to get a cuppa now as hands are beginning to freeze and typing is not a strong point anyway.

Hugs to all in need or want of one, stay safe and warm

    Marie

Jackieg....tried to send you pm but box is full....hugs
