Sounds like a neighbour from hell... have you tried getting an ASBO against them? :rotfl:

As for protesting, it can be illegal if you go onto their property to protest (aggravated trespass). I'm not sure what to suggest really - how about a village outing picketing their head offices?

I still think making a nusiance of yourselves outside the show home with placards etc would bring your plight to their attention since they don't seem otherwise very interested. Think like Greenpeace do - you want a mini building site nuisance recreation.

    LOL I wish we could!

We (the villagers) are working on getting something together as a protest, the site sales office is only open thurs, fri, sat and sun so any disruption on one or all of those days would have a big impact. Also one pee'd off person who happens to live directly opposite the sales office is getting a banner made up and is going to put it on the front of their house :) Might get HH to sit up and take some notice.

Someone like a farmer having his tractor and large trailer "break down" in the road, blocking in some show home visitors would be good.
Maybe the neighbour accross the road could have some urgent work to do digging up their garden or having bulky items deliverd. Could be a lot of fun!

You could also tell visitors about the problems they might expect if they move in soon.

You can hit these people where it hurts since they don't seem to want to listen to your complaints.

If the Police of get p$$ed off they have the right to prosecute the the person who keeps phoning and complaining for wasting their time if they don't consider it a viable reason for getting them out. They are police officers not liaison officer. This fault lies with your local council, (horses mouth so to speak, not mine)

Its a road traffic offence to park on, or obstruct pedestrian use on a pavement, enforceable by fine ....its against the law....

I said "I think plod should be called everytime there is a offence comitted....sure enough...plod may get !!!!!! off....but if the builders are breaking the law.....plod is more likely to be !!!!!! at them for keeping them running back and forth to this site"

Dazco said in response .... Good idea, because they have nothing better to do."

So you're saying the police should ignore law breakers or avoid the situation if offences are comitted?... the simple option would be...as in most cases...advise the offender of the offence....warn him against reoffending...if he persists....issue the penalty as described by law....

some more advice for dazco, in case you ever have an accident

If you are involved in an accident on the road you need to take the following steps to help yourself so that you do not unintentionally break the law.

If you are the driver and one or more of the following has happened:

A person, other than yourself, is injured

Damage is caused to another vehicle or to someone else's property

An animal has been killed or injured, except in your own vehicle or trailer (an 'animal' is defined as 'any horse, cattle, sheep, pig, goat or dog')

    You must:

    Stop and stay at the scene for a reasonable time;

    Give your vehicle registration number, your name and address, and that of the vehicle owner (if different), to anyone with reasonable grounds for asking for those details;

If you do not exchange those details at the scene, you must report the accident at a police station or to a police officer as soon as you can and in any case within 24 hours.

perhaps better "advice" than you were offering

as regards parking and "obstruction" offences

It is an offence for a goods vehicle over 7.5 tonnes (how heavy is a dumper lorry or JCB?)to park on a verge of a road, a central reservation or foot-way, unless instructed to do so by a police officer as a result of an emergency or for unloading where there is no other place to unload and the vehicle is not left unattended at any time.

The Police also continue to deal with obstruction and all moving traffic offences and can take action against any vehicle where security or other traffic policing issues are involved.

Here's a good tip from the BBC website Firstly, if possible take a digital photograph of the illegally parked vehicle(s)

Insert the photograph into a Word document along with:

    Vehicle registration number
    Date and time
    Precise location

Sign the document with other witnesses if possible

Send to the local police station

I usually add to the letter “Please take whatever action you deem appropriate as time permits”, because this shows that you appreciate that there may be more urgent demands on police time.

Secondly, it is also useful to make contact with your local councilor who can be very helpful, and may already have pursued other matters with the officer who will be dealing with your complaint

Finally, keep reporting vehicles parked illegally on pavements and grass verges. It is going to take a long time to achieve the modal shift necessary to improve our walkways for pedestrians, and to reestablish their inviolability in the mind of the motorist.

hope the child is ok....and makes a good recovery

Torby, thank you! Some very very good advice there, which I have taken note of and will act on accordingly. I will also pass on the advice to the community partnership and my neighbours.

tomstickland, we have all the details of Haslam Homes HO directors, the whole lot, we have emailed and written via snail mail to just about everyone concerned with HH, at best we have received a standard auto reply then nothing, at worst we have been ignored all together.

Things are progressing though, I don't want to say too much here because HH do read complaints websites, as we have found out in the recently when the site manager quoted pretty much word for what what a resident had written on another site forum.

SUCCESS!!! or at least a bit of success! (or so I have been informed)

Haslam Homes have been issued a fine from the Considerate Constructors Scheme for failure to comply with it's rules.

We don't know yet if the fine is in relation to this building site but either way it validates our complaints that they do consistently break rules/guidelines.
