LOL.. No I am not a builder or have anything to do with construction. But I do know that you cannot make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

I think it is out of order for the OP to sit there moaning about dust from the comfort of her home, which was built probably using the same methods.

Houses need to be built, the world does not revolve around the OP.

The photos do look dangerous but nothing else she posted about is.

FWIW my house has been here for at least 60 years. I live in a small village and up until recently it was surrounded by woodland and Greenfield so I seriously doubt that the construction of my house caused the level of problems that this new development has.

I am not being unreasonable about this, when we were informed of the plans for the new houses we expected some disruption and mess but this really is bad. I wish I could invite you to live here for a while and you could witness for yourself just how bad it is, some of the things that are going on are hazardous to health and I'm not the only person who thinks so, pretty much the whole of the village has had enough and just about everyone has experienced problems.

If the problems were a means to an end then that would be one thing but all the problems are leading to are Haslam homes making more money. We have another couple of years of these problems to look forward to but we are just expected to put up with it and pay our for it...why should we so a big co can make money?

Whilst I can sympathise that this building company have not been considerate, I do worry about this statement
The first houses are ready to be moved into now, and I really don't think the people who have bought them have got the foggiest idea of what they are letting themselves in for.
What are they letting themselves in for?

Mess, noise, disruption of utilities, possible damage to their cars, dust and mud all over their nice new carpets, having to dodge building machines just to walk to the corner shop for a newspaper. Same kind of thing the people who already live in this area have to put up with.

I spoke to one of the new residents just yesterday, they only moved into the house last weekend but she was telling me how she already thinks she has made a big mistake and wishes she had waited until the development was more complete, she said the dust levels in her house were terrible.

To the posters that suggested that a trip or fall might be in order, you all must be psychic

Last night a little boy of just 6 years old tripped on one the holes caused by the building works and smashed all his face in (it was a freinds son). It's a total mess and he's in a lot of pain. It happened in the area where there are no street lights, it was only 6.30pm so not late but still very dark.

I'm just surprised it hasn't happened before now.

Thats no good. And I am sure I speak for all MSE`ers when I say that I wish just you were just getting inconvenienced instead of this poor little boy.

But on another note, I did suggest you did something about those big holes, so you should shoulder some of the blame, even if it is a little.

Please wish the little boy well and DO try to sort out those paths.

   Have you been reading my posts AL ALL. How can I be to blame for the holes when A) I have nothing to do with the co that is making them and B) I HAVE REPEATEDLY tried to do something about the big holes.

I've complained to the co, the considerate constructors scheme, the council, my local councillor I've even written to the local newspapers. Every time HH come and fill one hole in that I (and many other people) have complained about they come and dig another one up.

What the heck do you expect me to do, personally go round and fill all the holes in myself.

It sounds like you had the time.

Have you ever thought of asking the actual builders themselves? They fill in holes. Newspapers don`t.

What the hell is that supposed to mean?

You obviously haven't been reading my posts at all, I've explained exactly what lengths I and other people in the village have gone to to try to get these things sorted and the very first thing we did was speak to the site manager, the second thing we did was speak to the site manger and you know that the 3 thing we did was speak to the site manager... ok wait now you will accuse me of wasting time speaking the site manager when it was obvious he wasn't doing his job, right?

Just so you know after that I (and others) phoned Haslam Homes head office and was told all complaints had to be put in writing, which I (and others) did. When we got no response I (and others) contacted the Considerate Constructors Scheme, who agreed to intervene on the villagers behalf, but Haslam homes ignored them too. While we were awaiting a response from Haslam homes and the CCS I (and others) contacted the highways agency, the Highways action line (local council) our local councillor and anyone who would listen in the council. I (and others) have been repeatedly passed from pillar to post told it's being investigated/looked into .

months down the line nothing changes.

So now I (and others) have tried to make it a more public issue in the hope we will get someone who can help to sit up an listen.

Have I done enough for you yet? People are getting hurt, it's not just about inconvenience and it never has been.
