Simple answer?
Yes, I would take it....a job is a job and £50 a week extras is £50 a week extra.
True. I could do with the extra £50. But what happens if my hours drop to 25 or under? I get no tax credits. I get £45 towards my rent. I could find another job to bump up the hours, but in this economic climate I don't think it is that easy, plus another job would have to have a constrasting shift pattern for me to take it.0 -
My friend Kerry works there part-timeShe says that the lads find it hard because the managers are women.
Almost every other negative you have listed on this thread, is directly the result of something other people have said or the opinions that they hold - and then often passed on by another party. He used to punch me in the stomach and then pretend he was joking"Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -
Well, to be fair it can't be THAT bad if she still works there.
Do you have a problem working for women?. Thats the only bit of that statement which would be relevant. Other people's problems, hang ups and issues aren't at stake or in question here, nor should it be the driving factor in your decision making.

I agree, thats unacceptable. But you can't go through life making snap decisions just based on a handful of negative experiences in your past.
I don't have a problem with women. No. Negative? Well, work does change your life and not always beneficially. I recognise some positives in working for a living, but at the moment the negatives are pulling stronger. It seems like the negatives would have a much bigger impact.0 -

If you sign a contract for 30 hours then they need to give you at least 30 hours a week unless they change your contract.
McDonalds used to schedule their full timers first and their shifts are more fixed than part timers so if you got contracted 30 hours a week you're more likely to work more than that than less what with waiting for someone to come in and let you away, people calling in sick and you being offered their hours as over time etc.0 -

I think I am guaranteed 16 or more hours. I've specified 35 hours, but they did state that sometimes the hours will drop. By how much? I don't know, but I am guessing it could drop to 20 with it being January/February.0 -
