@Souk That's brilliant, wish I'd got that survey. BUT if it's Toluna they take ages to pay.

I have an admirer :) He's a Polish bloke my mother has employed to paint her house. He called on Sunday morning to check out the job. I heard her talking to someone and wandered outside to see who it was (@missymoo in my pyjamas :D) He lives nearby but had no idea I existed.

By the time he was finished checking out the painting job I was dressed, hair brushed and 5 minute make up job done so I could go to town for Sunday papers and criossants. He asked if I was leaving so I explained, " no, just going to town for the paper". He needed a lift to town. Found it slightly strange that a painter would need a lift from me (don't such people usually have their own transport) but I said "of course" and made a mental note to question my mother about this as soon as I got home.

On the trip to town (about 7 minutes drive) I got his complicated relationship history:rotfl:and he asked if I have a husband or boyfriend. Seeing where this was going I had to tell him I have a boyfriend (and later fill my mother in on the story in case he asked).

So today he was back to start the painting (I'm back in my city house but I rang my mother for an update). 10am this morning he was telling my mother to tell me he was asking for me and that he's very jealous of my boyfriend :o

I'm very flattered by the attention but I'm not interested. My mother isn't sure what his transport situation is, she found him carrying a ladder down the road today :rotfl:But he's made a fantastic start on the painting.

At least he's being a little more interesting than your standard tradesperson :)

Lunch today was an Innocent veg pot (peri peri flavour). Loved it and will definitely buy again. It says on the pack it's 3 portions of veg even if the microwave cooking probably isn't great. Not the cheapest though.

Off to read Memorygirls blog before I log off for the night.

Nice to have an admirer, there's a bit of a drought going on here :(

I could also do with a painter - still trying to summon up the motivation to do a bit of decorating here :o.

Nice lunch - I'm just way too tight to buy stuff & have just made a huge salad to take in to work with me.

Where did you get it? My Tesco never seems to have them so wondering if it's worth a trip to Dunnes?

Ya Tesco but my local one is very big. I've never seen them on sale here before, I know they've been in UK for ages. Maybe they are just introducing them here.

Was just chatting to the lovely musician friend who brings me out for dinner and now I feel :(

We were talking about a mutual friend who's starting a new business and one of the main reasons he gave for why it won't work is that she's overweight

Image would be an important part of what she's doing but she DOES look good. Amazing actually. She's a size 14 I would think, maybe a 16 but she's very tall and wears beautiful dresses. He meets her more often than me and I always ask him what she was wearing because I :heart2: what she wears.

I can't believe a man just told me she can't succeed because she's overweight. He is overweight himself and well aware of that fact but it's a spectacular example of different standards for men and women.

So there's todays motivation to make it to the gym.

That is so ignorant of your friend. Yes image matters but 14/16 is hardly massive and her looking good and presentable should be all that matters. Here's hoping the woman's potential clients aren't as small minded as your friend.

(I know he's your friend but that attitude makes me furious)

Hear, hear! I hope you gave him a telling-off, Mags.

Me too, he does want her to succeed but privately thinks she won't. I also think she's being a little too optimistic but that's for recession/economic reasons and certainly nothing to do with her dress size.

Of course I did. I also explained that the reason I'm always asking what she was wearing is because she's so stylish.

It's still bothering me because men are supposed to be far less critical of how we look. If another woman had said it I wouldn't have taken as much notice, I'd have labelled her as jealous/bi*chy :undecided

In MSE lifestyle news I've been picking up freebies/almost freebies all day :money:

I got 2 small boxes of Persil liquitabs washing powder for €0.29 each. They were reduced to €2.29 but I had 2 x €2 coupons from Pigsback :) Well I had more than 2 coupons but there were only 2 of the small cheap boxes left on the shelf.

I picked up a small cosmetics goody bag at lunchtime for signing up to the mailing list for Unicare pharmacy. It has samples from ROC/Vichy/La Roche Posay and Thierry Mulger womanity perfume.

I had 2 of the Boots €3 haircare vouchers that expire today so I dropped in to Boots to see if I could find something on clearance to get with them. Found 3 bottles of Mark Hill products reduced to €3.40. Only had 2 vouchers so had to leave one behind but I got shampoo and conditioner for €0.80 :)

And I'm just back from a free cinema trip. Had an email offering free tickets to see Horrible Bosses. It was a reward for customers of SKY movies. Don’t worry I don’t have SKY movies, never had, just have a basic package so not sure how I got that invite.

Enjoyed it, it’s the film where Jennifer Aniston plays the raunchy dentist—I saw those pics of her in the papers a while ago but didn’t realise it was this film till I got there. It was excellent, very entertaining. Brief synopsis: It’s about 3 friends who all hate their bosses (one of those bosses is Jennifer Aniston the dentist). They decide to kill the bosses but that all goes a bit wrong. Stupid storyline but it is really funny.

    £12 on onepoll.

Annoyed with Curves, I turned up there at 6.45, only to be turned away :( they've reduced the opening hours again. They close at 7 every night now, and from 2-4 during the day as well, so if I don't make it at lunchtime I haven't much chance of getting there.

Never in the whole time I've had a car have I seen a petrol light :D but I think I could be dangerously close now. Petrol = priority purchase for tomorrow.
