Well if you are getting it for nothing, it can't be bad!

For £3.60 if you count the cost of the mag :D Cheaper than Primark and hopefully better quality. I'm going to get a couple of long sleeved cotton tops and see what else takes my fancy. :)

Well, I'm persuaded to give it a go tomorrow at St Paul's - I'll post on how it goes.

Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.

Same here! Not got the funds atm (even for the mag!) but will have in two weeks- just hope they have lower priced stock left!!

I normally plug in some earphones when I shop- they're not always on, it just means I can get away with flashing a smile at the sales assistant and they don't bother me after that- I don't even have them on most of the time! Otherwise I just say "I'm find thanks" in an upbeat but firm voice and sales assistants normally leave me to it.

I get that its their job to be on hand for the customer (I was a S.A in the past in several stores) but most are aware that customers don't want to be bothered, I think many worry about secret shoppers who are marked down a great deal on not being attentive and quite often the come-back on that is basicly not worth leaving customers alone for!!

I wear headphones too, I love to listen to music or the radio while shopping, and the SAs do usually leave me alone. It's nice to browse in peace but, when you are struggling with, say, bags and an umbrella, it's nice of them to put things that you want to try on aside for you, so that you can browse a little more. And I like it when they go and get you a different size when you're trying things on. That used to happen all the time - it's only in the last few years that changing room staff have started refusing to do so. One of my biggest bugbears!

p.s. if you are planning to buy the mag in two weeks, be aware that there may not be any copies left - I went to four shops before finding any the other day and it only came out on Wednesday!! Is this deal in the weekly email yet? Because, if it is, you can kiss goodbye to any chance of getting it. :( Martin, we do love you but you have an awful habit of giving away our best grabbits on the weekly email or (even worse) GMTV!!!! :rotfl:

Tempted by this offer as quite like red to read.
we have a hobbs store in city centre.
looked online couldent see the tops people mentioning when went on website clicked on tops just lots of pricey shirts.

heaviliy pregnant right now so idea what size but thourght nice treat after baby.
used to have hobbs jumper for work which I loved but had brought it from ebay.

To see the T-Shirts, after clicking on the tops, you need to then click on 'T-Shirts' which is underneath 'Tops' on the left hand side.

about to put on my new top. I'm tempted to go back for a stripey top but I don't know if I can face it! Think I'll send hubby in. I'm glad I'm the exception rather than the rule when it comes to how S.A.'s treat us.

I do like how they wrap it up & put it in a nice bag though :) Although they started wrapping mine before I produced the gift card hehe.
  • I think that some sales assistants are snooty, because somehow in their minds it elevates their position. It's sad when that happens. Given the recession, and the fact that Hobbs themselves have initiated this promotion, everyone is entitled to go in and use their gift card. Any snooty comments should be shrugged off. I know it is easier to say than do. When confronted by a really rude sales assistant in the past, I have asked for that person's name so that I could lodge an official complaint with head office. That soon wiped the smug look off that person's face. On the other hand, there are many many friendly and courteous sales assistants out there. The problem is that the nasty ones stick in our minds more than the pleasant ones. Hope you all get your Hobbs bargains.
