Bum! I think I finally need to accept I need glasses.

btw, the alternative to multiple pairs of glasses is the chain round the neck, or as a friend does, wear a scarf and hang them on the loop of that.
I have threatened DH with the chain round the neck thing, he says he would take it off. I said not if I tied it tight enough ... He's worn glasses as long as I've known him, and for some reason he now keeps forgetting where he last had them!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

We were strolling along to the shops last week when suddenly she went charging into the road shouting "quick - that duck's about to get run over". The "duck" was actually an empty waitrose carrier bag!
:rotfl:
I've woken up at night before to go to the toilet, without my glasses on, bent down to pat what I think is my cat lying on the floor, only to find it's my OH's jumper or something.
It doesn't happen as often now I have a white cat instead of a black one.0 -
I have my glasses that i got from the optician that i keep for best (like your Sunday best clothes) but 'cos i'm forever standing or sitting on them i have 3 or 4 pairs from the £shop.
I have double vision so even the best glasses aren't marvellous.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I have worn glasses since I was about ten as I couldn't read the blackboard even when sitting at the front. Awful pink things, really humiliating. I got some contact lenses when they first came out, big things that covered the entire front of the eye. Then moved to small ones, and now my eyes seem to get irritated by them so moved back to specs some years ago. I have varifocals. V for Very expensive in my prescription even tho they are not big name designer specs.
My main problem is that when I take them off for any reason and put them down without thinking, then I can't see well enough to find them. I get very cross! I have to either rummage in my handbag (if I can find it) where I have the previous pair to the latest, which I obviously can't see as well through usually well enough to locate the missing ones.
And I am waiting for a cataract operation as my eyesight is now borderline for driving and I can't drive at night because of glare from headlights, or even in winter mornings when the sun is so low in the sky even a peaked hat and a cushion don't eliminate the problem.
But the optician tells me that it is possible that after the operation I might only need glasses for reading! Oooer, i think to myself. I've come to rely on my specs partly concealing my big nose. Shall I expose the nose in all its glory or keep on with the specs?0 -
ive been wearing glasses and contacts for over 30 plus years and after a bad eye infection last summer due to contact lens i decided to have my eyes lasered in december and can honestly say it was the best thing i have done in a long time
its the little thing that i notice like being able to fall asleep and not worry about taking out my contacts ect and being able to run and see where im going
