55.4ppl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a joke. Costs us approx £300 per month to heat a 2 bed flat during the cold spell  We are desperate to find another supplier but very rural and tied in to rip off calor.
The only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing

I know of a caravan site in the borders charging £46 for a 19kg bottle. That's the most expensive I have heard.

Might be useful to quote if you ring around! Even if you don't live in their Cardiff/Newport delivery area.

That post was from April 29th and the Cardiff Gas price is still £49.95 ... but they've dropped the price of bulk LPG so might be worth asking whether £49.95 is their last word!

Meanwhile Carver Gases in Wolverhampton (website here) is currently selling 45 kg refills for £40.81 collected, £43.70 delivered.

    Good luck!

I found that Calor themselves will give you a higher price than if you go direct to the little suppliers they have on their website.

Cheapest I have found is a little Calor supplier, North Wales who charge £52.50 with free delivery for 47kg. No bottle deposit.

Everywhere here seesm to be going up and only changed to them recently when flogas changed their price to £59.40 !!

If anyone knows of a cheaper one in the North Wales area tho I 'd be grateful for their number :D
  • Prices in Northern Ireland have now reached £98 for ONE single 47kg bottle of gas. I now intend to open a rather large can of worms (!) and expose the blatant profiteering that the gas suppliers here are exploiting.

To do that, I need the help of all you 'money saving experts'....

If you can, could you please PM me with the price you have recently paid for your 47kg bottle, in addition with the details of the dealer you obtained it from. I need to draft a list of verified prices to compare. This will be inserted in my report.

    All help most gratefully received.

    Many thanks, Stephen

Just searched for refill prices and found Flogas online price of £65.09 inc VAT. So rang number as unable to get a quote for delivery for Derry N Ireland. I was given a number for Flogas N Ireland in Belfast who then quoted me £96.35 inc VAT.
When queried why the price was so different for the same company, I was just told "well thats our price here"!!!!
As Stephen says, it is a disgrace and would seem to be profiteering or at least local price fixing

I suppose it depends where the gas comes from. If it's shipped in from Britain already in bottles then you'll be paying extra for transportation.

In any event I'd imagine refineries in Ireland are smaller and therefore less efficient than British ones, hence the base price for the gas will be higher.
