I love Timotei stuff too - the shampoo is in my opinion really good quality :):T:)

I was a model a while ago at Vidal Sassoon, and one of their top colourists was working on my hair (light blonde, with a few different purple colours in one section, very cool), and I asked him about good shampoos and conditioners. I thought he'd recommend just the official salon vidal sassoon ones, but he said that the best was timotei, as it was so gentle!
we keep our soaps/bath bombs/bubble bars on a two-tier cake stand in the bathroom and I have to admit it does look very pretty, xx

Oooh, what a good idea! I might look out for one of these now :) I have to admit, that although I've been buying a lot less toiletries, lately I seem to have a new addiction - pretty stuff for my new flat! I've never had my own place before, and had no furniture, so I've been decoarting and buying from scratch, and now I can't seem to stop :rotfl: I do love my flat though :happyhear Buying toiletries would be cheaper though :p

Was very good and didn't go for the BS £5 off voucher - and boy was that hard - they have so many promotions, thought I would wait for the next one (still have the Feb £10 off £25 spend unused.) They seemed to have some sort of sample promotion - a little table set up at the front of the store with a load of testers and sample jars!! I er selected a few ;) to take home and try! The staff in there are just so lovely too (Lakeside in case anyone fancies a nosey!) :j

I took a wander into my local BS end of last week (after discovering there is a Swiss BS website, but they don't sell anything, no glitches for me :() and got scared out pretty quickly by the overly agressive sounding assistants, talking to me in French :o My French isn't quite good enough yet, and they were quite scary, so I left fairly quickly. I think that was a good thing :rotfl:

Same here - I tried sample of another Olay and had the streaming eyes too. Think it was the total effects wake up wonder. I get on well with the 3 point serum so had considered trying the flawless skin cream, but I wont bother now!!:p

I got streaming eyes with the Total Effects Touch of Sunshine but persevered and the effects have largely died away - but not totally, not quite. I'm not at all reactive to anything normally so it's interesting to hear that others have had the same experience with Olay products.

There was a wide range of Timotei products in Poundland Darlington over the weekend. I always got on fine with Timotei.

Can someone remind me of the Boots returns policy on things that don't have a receipt? I've got a big tub of FlakeAway (unopened) and its the only S&G product I don't like. Can I take it back and swap for something else? I didn't buy it but I imagine it came from boots originally. The barcode would be the same wherever it came from wouldn't it? I'll probably get Clean On Me as I've only a dribble of that left and I do love it :D

Thanks for your help Ladies x

I have took plenty of things back to Boots without receipt, they always ask if you have one-but as long as its unopened, always let you exchange

  • Afternoon ladies :)

One UU over the weekend - the BS Japanese Rose BB - WIBA Yes it was nice and floral and light and I thought that I had succeeded in finishing the last unopened BB when I discovered a Mango one with about 2 body applications left in it  oh well at least they are all starting to dwindle slowly!

fixx if you get into a situation again where the language startles you, use a phrase such as

je suis desole, (the ecoute's won't come out!) mais j'apprends toujours la langue. Vous fait parle l'anglais ou pourriez-vous parler s'il vous plaît legèrement plus lente? (not sure about my tenses there - i'm slightly rusty! :o )
It just says that I am sorry i am still learning the language, do you speak any english or can you please speak slightly slower so I can follow :) I knonw that you are immersed in the country now and I'm not sure if you do this, but from experience if you make the effort to say that in the language, the locals are always more forgiving as you are making the effort and they know that you are still on the learning curve!
Sorry again if you already do but it might help someone else :)

Hope everyone is well today and having a good day :) hello to all newbies and anyone i've missed!

Hi all, no ins or outs for me at the moment. I have spent since yesterday listing 15 items on thebay. It takes so long doesn't it!

Agreed Kaz, I haven't got round to listing anything yet but I am going to as theres no way I will get through the stuff I have without at least some of it going off / out of date, espec body butters I seem to have a ridiculous amount :(

    2 UU's
    - S & G Hair Supply 50ml - WIBA? No, didn't like this and left my hair with a weird coating on it. When I dried my hair it was like the water was trapped in the coating somewhat and took ages to blowdry

    - S & G Clean on Me 50ml WIBA? I have a 500ml pump dispenser one in the stash, so no for now. Maybe in the future but at the mo I'm using the IFoam one which I love, really moisturises well and OH even commented on how smooth my skin felt. :)

  • Oooh, I forgot to say, in one of the Sanctuary gift bags I have been working my way through was a scented candle, which I lit last night! It burned out in about three hours, and you couldn't smell a thing. Went back to my cheapie Ikea Vanilla candle pots.

Possibly an addendum to Erma Bombeck? 'Don't save the scented candle - it might not be very good anyway' :rotfl:

I use Collection 2000 clear mascara! Works wonder and is only about £1.80!

I use clear mascara too! Am using the Natural Collecton £1.99 one at the moment so will check out the Collection 2000 one next as it's even cheaper! Thanks Ruby! Also you could try vaseline on a cotton bud Rosemary if you have any lying about? I also liked the Benefit 'Brow Zings' kit when they tried it on me, but don't think it's worth paying all that money when clear mascara/vaseline works just as well! (I do have dyed eyebrows though)

I can't find fixx's original post, but the following might be slightly more correct (but not bad, Roshy! :T):

"Pardon, mais je ne parle pas courrament le francais. Pouririez-vous/ Veuillez (vahy-ay) parler un peu plus lentement pour que je puisse mieux comprendre, ou si votre anglais est mieux que mon francais, discutons-nous en anglais...*"

"Sorry, but if I don't speak fluent French. Could you please speak a little slower so that I can understand better, or if your English is better than my French, let's talk in English..."

    * Say this last bit with a twinkle in the eye, and chances are that they other person will be more than happy to go a little slower! ;)

Hi vivh, glad you've joined, this way you only have half a month to be good :T:rotfl:
    Morning!

Sarah*a - didn't realise you had family serving! I wouldn't have tried to teach you to suck eggs :) Perhaps you could ask your brother for the names of people in his unit who don't get many care packages sent, and we could direct them that way - sometimes it's nice to keep it in the 'family'?

I started back on the Avon Soft Glow (with fake tan) last night. I've showered twice and it still stinks of that marzipan fakeness. No streaks though, so that's a plus. It also meant I've now got a foaming body scrub that started to splutter, as I had to have a good exfoilate first! Small achievements.

Vivh, welcome! Everyone here is really friendly - it does seem like one of the nicest challenges! Use up stuff that makes you feel good - what can be wrong with that?

That's such a lovely idea, I'd love to do that rather than send to a distribution centre :)
