Was very good and didn't go for the BS £5 off voucher - and boy was that hard - they have so many promotions, thought I would wait for the next one (still have the Feb £10 off £25 spend unused.) They seemed to have some sort of sample promotion - a little table set up at the front of the store with a load of testers and sample jars!! I er selected a few ;) to take home and try! The staff in there are just so lovely too (Lakeside in case anyone fancies a nosey!) :j

They've been doing this for quite a while and when there was no one in the shop I would fill up little sample pots with almost finished testers of body butter, moisutriser etc. or new products (like rainforest hair butter) and they would put them in a pot behind the till. When somebody bought something you just hand them a couple you think they might like (based on what they bought) or just give a few random ones. Or when somebody asked me for a recommendation I would give them a sample pot to try out. One woman came in asking for the invisible lip liner, looked at it and said it was too expensive so I asked her if she would like a sample of something else and ranted about how oldies didn't want body butter smelling of fruit because she doesn't like smelling like an ice lolly  it was only my first week as well.:o anyway, sorry for rambling but most of the people who work in the body shop are really nice so just ask them for a sample of something if you don't want to spend £10 on something you don't know if it's any good. (plus the little pots are reusable and handy for keeping in your pocket- I fill them up with body butter to use on hands when I'm out and about:D) I also got about 11 £3 off vouchers with holes to put sample pots in(with no minimum spend) and gave some to people I knew, but couldn't use them myself for obvious reasons. I still have nine but they have expired:o If an employee of the body shop approaches you, they may just have a voucher to give you;)

Thankyou to Andrea (I think:o-too many pages to find it) for the uses of talc. I've been trying to use it but it seems to last forever and leaves a bit of a mess in the bathroom. Plus everything I touch turns white and it leaves marks on clothes so it's a bit frustrating. I do love the smell though:T

Yesterday, my mum said she bought some really nice ice cream but would 'save it for another day' but my dad said, life's too short to wait for a special day to eat ice cream and I had to explain PRCP:j(and I got some delicious ice cream:p)

and someone said they didn't like BS mango whip- I love the stuff and use it as handcream (put in the BS tester pots:)) people always say 'something smells really good...':rotfl:

    2 UU for me

Boots 4 in 1 No 7 facial wipes WIBA? Yes, but only if I had another £5 voucher
Neutrogena Daily Defense free sample moisuriser WIB? Smelt really lovely and had SPF 15 so there's every possibility I would buy this (I think that was what it was called, I presume it's new seeing as this was a freebie from a mag)
  • Three uu's from today bath -

Magic mushroom, wiba, yes but next year now. Although with this bar I had to use the whole bar but I think thats because I may have got it wet at some point

S&G sugar crush wiba, yes. I actually changed my opinion on this, I loved the scrub but didn't like the smell but the smell has grown on me and I will buy it again at some point although Lush's are still my HG.

Lush dream cream body lotion, wiba, no, I much prefer charity pot this dream cream was a little to thick and creamy for me.

I've treated myself for Valentine's Day as nobody else was going to:p I've ordered 3 oils from www.perfume-parlour.co.uk. I've gone for Vera Wang Princess, Beautiful and Cabotine (which I've never smelt but am going on recommendations).

I ought to get my bum on the naughty step but I don't care! I'm worth it :D

Yes you are!! :T But you still have to go on the naughty step. LOL :rotfl:- although I don't think you will be lonely there this week!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for this, I just love to get a bit of inside info! I always wonder what these places would be like to work in too - I imagine you would get really sick of the stuff after a while, LOL!! I used to work in Selfridges accessories department one Christmas and just loved it. But it was only temping so maybe the novelty would have worn off.

I did (a bit cheekily) ask BS SA if she knew of any offers coming for March (after someone on here said they were given a March voucher when they used their Telegraph £5 off voucher) but they said they didn't know yet. I have the £10 off £25 but only want a face cream for £10 so don't want to spend that much..and £25 is a bit of an odd amount to try and spend....and of course I have a massive stash of stuff from the Jan sales :D
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
  • Hi Rose,

I've tried the Deep comfort body butter, and it is quite lovely, but not significantly better than standard cocoa butter, if I'm honest. I wouldn't be likely to spend that much on it again! The one I will buy again is the Sanctuary body butter - Mande Lular or the regular one. Lovely smell and wonderfully silky on the skin!

Thanks Betty, you have just saved me £20! :rotfl: I was very tempted, but I would have been really disappointed if it wasn't amazing. I love the Mande lular range as well - I'm currently using the body scrub and bath cream, so I may well re-buy the body butter.

Incidentally, the body scrub is spluttering, so I'm anticipating a UU tomorrow.

I've also been using my aveeno body lotion on my hands, which get horribly red and sore, and they're now lovely and soft - I don't think they've ever felt this good. Good old aveeno. If only it had more exciting packaging! :)

:jI've almost finished catching up and am making a list of products to try (hopefully some time next year:eek:) when I've used up the current stash.

Tara I spoke to my dentist briefly about teeth bleaching when I lived abroad. I decided not to have it done as she mentioned it can cause/worsen sensitivity and my teeth are already sensitive. She also said it does not correct any variation in the shades of teeth as it will whiten all the teeth by the same number of shades.

    I probably shouldn't say/ask::o

That's an impressive list Rosemary:eek::T enjoy using all your products.

What is the JL GWP offer? Seven GWP items seems bargainous.:T

What are Clarins points? Should I have collected them when I bought Clarins in Boots and Debs?

ok the jl offer is suppossed to be buy 2 items of skincare not including cleansers BUT I bought a eyeliner and a cleansing melt and the SA said that was fine you get to choose 4/10 items but if you buy another item (so 3 in total) you get a cleansing trio of eye make up remover /cleansing lotion and toner.so I spent £59(but had a £10 voucher) and the SA said the gwps were worth £100:):):):)
the points are only at Jl and you use them for spa treatmenst but as they managed to lose my last lot I only have 5 and dont know how many you need for a treatment
