okay I admit it as the 1st day of frugal Feb this has not been a total sucess:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
in my defense I blame a/the weather(it was too cold to go to town yesterday(still jan) and b/ whoever said Clinique bonus time was on(not anywhere in my town:()
my ins therefore are
1/ a free crabtreee and evelyn handcream (worth £7) with coupon from magazine:)
2/ a YSL box with body cream and perfume from debs down from £78:eek: to £52(still:eek:) but I used some coupons and got it down to £23:)...plus got 500 beauty bonus points for spending over £25:):):money::money::money:
3/ L'occitanne goodies....a half price bag of shea butter stuff (£27) plus a lip balm £6 so got a £30 goody bag free:).....only trouble now have 3 more bars of soap(SA also gave me a sachet of face cream.
I know I did not need the occitane stuff but DS2s girl like it so putting the bits I don't want away for pressies and I did need (honestly:rotfl:) the opium as its my fav perfume and my body cream and perfume almost empty(I blame Father Christmas ....alias DH who forgot to buy me some)
so guess I am heading for the naughty escalator!
now off to clothes challenge to fess up there:rotfl:0 -
actually - thinking about the experimenting, how did the pile cream as moisturiser work??? (cant remember who it was now!)
.
'Twas me. The way pile cream works is to restrict blood flow, as piles are just enlarged veins. So by putting it on your face , it's moisturising anyways, but deals with bags and dark circles under the eyes because it restricts holding fluid ( I think?)
I'm just going to say that it worksSave confusion! Just whack it on after cleansing before bed and when you get up, wash your face as normal

I was thinking on trying actual talc in my hair before I go to sleep at night but not sure exactly how it would work. WOuld probably have to do it on a night where I would have time to wash my hair just in case!) Has anyone tried this?
I have tried this and didn't find it very successful. I think batiste is that little bit finer than talc. I find talc makes my hair flat rather than bouncy.
That said, we are all different so give it a go on a day you have time to rectify if it goes wrong! Good luckNot buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
I'm still catching up on posts but I just had a little thought.
Whilst almost bursting with pride that N.P.I. has made our list of abbreviations:D:p it occurred to me that perhaps pink candle philosophy ought to be there too? What do you think?

I have had a bit of bad news today and found out that I am getting made redundant (I was half expecting this, hence me applying for jobs for the past month or so) so I really need to keep expenditure down and fingers crossed I find something quickly.
Good luck this month girls!x
Hope you find something and good luck for Friday!!
Sarah - Glad you had some answers, you know what your options are now!!!
I can't remember who it was on the Jan thread that said they were going to buy 6 copies of Glamour, it made me laugh :rotfl::rotfl: i'm on mat leave and should be able to walk again by 3rd March so i'll be off to buy a couple too..... I've been using Botanics moisturier for 10 years so going to try something different when i've used up my stash....
I think I can manage not to spend anything in Feb (glitches permitting) especially as i'm going to be mega busy, but dont think i'll be having very many use ups though eitherChallenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015Starting the savings for retirement :rotfl:

Oh Poo Roshydoshy!I'm keeping it all crossed for you for Friday.
2 storage boxes... OMG, we are a bad influence!!! :rotfl: p.s. don't have stash envy - I envy those people who only have one of each thing and can fit their entire toiletry collection onto their dressing table! That is my aim.
I have that kind of envy as well as Stash Envy! Much in the same way that I envy people who live in huge minimalist half empty lofts every bit as much as people who have cosy crowded country cottages. (I'm just contrary I guess!)I've just rounded up all my toileteries and I'm feeling abit embarrassed. It's like I have some sort of compulsion.
I alternate between embarrassment and glee!:D

Pudsey I can't imagine there is a great deal of difference between bubble bath & shower gel - although I think the Avon B/baths are slightly more liquid than the shower gels so might be a good idea to put into a smaller bottle or ideally one with a pump dispenser on it to avoid it getting spilt. I'll probably try and pour some into an empty shower gel bottle (if I can get the lid off - no idea why so many are now permanently fixed!) That way, the girls might not even realised I've substituted it
My Avon Dry Skin SOS handcream gave a splutter last night - I will be sorry when this one dies as unless it comes through clearance I won't be able to replace. I loved this - guaranteed to save those winter chapped hands. Luckily I think I've got a couple leftI suspect in due course they will do an intensive one in the range but not at the moment. The Olay Serum is still spluttering another fave of mine - I've got the one in the dark red bottle - expensive compared to some face creams, but my face isnt reacting at all to this
