I'm in for February! Unfortunately not very many use ups last month, but no major spends either: 2 toothpastes, toothbrush and a nail varnish thinner from what I recall. Around £10, yay! :D I resisted boots and body shop sales!! Picked up a lot of freebies: Clinique mascara, Nails Inc. polish, Body shop mini butters, mouthwash, a few sachets.
In January I started doing make-up every day, and feel great. Those blushes and eye shadows are everlasting! Never used up one in my life. I also started a weekly pampering night, to help me go through face masks, body butters etc. In addition, every new product that I get is placed in a separate box, and opened only after finishing something older. I abide the pink rose philosophy and shop in my stash for the nicest products. Don't want to have too many open pots though!

My stash is a mess as I'm still moving houses. My goals in February are to continue using make-up, and reducing stash. Planned to treat myself to Clinique bonus time when my moisturizer finishes, but not after reading about the Glamour offer.
The ultimate dream is to find a basic body lotion that would also work as a face moisturiser. How wonderful would it be not to have a separate product for each body part.:smileyhea I'm dreaming. I already abolished foot cream and hand cream, I don't have a particularly dry skin so only need 1 body cream to do all of these jobs.

I'm back in. Intend to not spend a penny on toiletries this month. The only potential In i can see is if i actually get one of those hair colourants to try.

First UU of this month - Simply Pure face wipes - WIBA probably not, i certainly don't need to as i have lots of packs in my stash, going to try the Tesco's ones next, if i like them then i will use them instead of the No7 i've been buying.

Roshy - sorry to hear about your redundancy, good luck with the job interview.
Yesterday we were given a little more information about the reorganisation we're under. Looks like my unit will start in Sept, and finish in 2014 so i'm still no wiser as to when i have to fight for my job or start looking. (Nowt round here at the moment though)
  • Count me in again please :)

    A query........................

My kids used to bath regularly (not that they dont now :D) but now all 3 prefer showers. However, I'm left with 3 huge bottles of Avon's bubble bath - which I cant use because it sometimes makes me itch (ezcema/sensitive skin).

Is it possible to use bubble bath as shower gel or is it too concentrated for that and I'm risking skin rashes? I notice the Body Shop bottles I use are labelled as bath/shower gel, so is there really any difference, or is it just a marketing con to get us to buy both??

Like your thinking Alioth:). I also have a place for new products and try to keep a check on which ones were bought when and have some sort of rotation. Some products I have do have a use by date on the bottle aswell so I try and use them first.

A face, body, hand, foot moisturiser would be great and I would buy it, but these beauty companies just make money out of us by having so many different lotions and potions for many different jobs. Before, I have used a hand lotion as a body lotion (Neal's Yard mint and bergamot hand lotion) and even used some after sun (Liz Earle
Sun Shade botanical Aftersun gel) as a refreshing eye mask - it was lovely! It was a 200ml tube and last 24mths opened - thats a lot of product for an eye treatment!:T
So why don't we all start experimenting and letting each other know which products can be truly multi-purpose and also very Money Saving. :j

actually - thinking about the experimenting, how did the pile cream as moisturiser work??? (cant remember who it was now!)

I had a NBE yesterday in Boots (forgot to say !!) - they do Batiste in sparkly gold and silver..... thought I was being very good not getting it - ive only got about 1/3 can left...

1 UU today - the dregs of a perfume (fleur i think it was called) that i was bought for Christmas about 3 years back. WIBA?? no - all its done is prove to me that without knowing what people like, you really shouldnt buy perfume for people...
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
  • Count me in for February. I managed to go the whole of January without buying a single thing, and used up 6 things.

But, I start the month having ordered 3 x batiste online at superdrug. My excuse is that I'm near the end of my existing can and have none in my stash.

Going to try to not buy anything again this month :p

I like the idea of multi purpose products too - lets share ideas for that as we go!

I've just rounded up all my toileteries and I'm feeling abit embarrassed. It's like I have some sort of compulsion.

In that case you will fit in well here! :D

Welcome to the newbies, and welcome back thevicster - good to have you back with us! Sarah glad you've got a diagnosis - at least when you know what you're dealing with you can start taking appropriate action can't you.

Pudsey I can't imagine there is a great deal of difference between bubble bath & shower gel - although I think the Avon B/baths are slightly more liquid than the shower gels so might be a good idea to put into a smaller bottle or ideally one with a pump dispenser on it to avoid it getting spilt.

My Avon Dry Skin SOS handcream gave a splutter last night - I will be sorry when this one dies as unless it comes through clearance I won't be able to replace. I suspect in due course they will do an intensive one in the range but not at the moment. The Olay Serum is still spluttering, as is the Avon Cashmere Finish foundation. I have spares of both of those.

Forgot to declare one UU last month too - a mini Estee Lauder Lucidity Loose Powder which I found when I cleared my dressing table drawer out a few weeks ago. WIBA? - it was really nice, but I don't think I like it any more than the Clinique one I usually use, and the Estee Lauder is a lot more expensive in comparison, so probably not.

  • Count me in again for this month too!

Can't say that I bought zero toiletries last month (boots own shampoo for brown hair, face wash (although I am kind of needing this, and sure deodrant when it was on offer)

Hoping to spend zero money this month...although that Batiste offer in Superdrug is very tempting to say the least - plus I don't have much left of the can I am using just now.

I was thinking on trying actual talc in my hair before I go to sleep at night but not sure exactly how it would work. WOuld probably have to do it on a night where I would have time to wash my hair just in case!) Has anyone tried this?

    :)
