No Buying Toiletries in February Challenge

Count me in again. I had abysmal January.
One throw out for me yesterday: Maybelline Great Lash mascara. Sick of panda eyes from this product. I am going to repurchase the Avon Magnify mascara (I say repurchase as I already own it in brown and want it in black) only if it goes on offer of £5.00. I can wait. If I get desperate for a black one I'll borrow Emma (daughter's) Benefit Bad Gal.
The only product that I'm getting low on and that I don't have a stash of is my Decleor Clay Mask. Will repurchase this when it goes. Not sure how much is left in it but the tube's feeling light.
Other than this I'm trying not to be tempted by the Elemis and Laura Geller TSV's that are coming up - I have stashed items! and avoiding the email timetospa sent me with discount code for my birthday.

Hi Jacks
I can't take the credit for the paragraph you highlighted, that was copied from Trudi's post in January:rotfl:!
I agree that the pink rose candle philosophy needs to be included. Is McCulloch around - she highlighted the philosophy to us and can probably put it more succinctly than me?! I will then edit the opening post.

I am continuing with this challenge in February as well. I spent £31.20 on toiletries in January so aiming for buying no toiletries in February.
I got a couple of UU's to report, 1xhotel schampoo and 1xhotel showergel - I got plenty more to use up. A small bottle of Umberto Giannini curly schampoo - I wont be buying this again and a jar of Royal jelly hand &nail cream from Boots - this one was to my surprise a really good hand creme, now using the same make but the body lotion as a hand cream.
In January I did an order to Liz Earle so that I didn't had to pay for postage. I ordered their Schampoo and conditioner, both are great they make hair shiny and gives my hair more body. I ordered their energising body scrub which is my HG scrub and their foot repair moisturiser, this is also fab. Complimentery gift was their eyebright lotion, this is the first that I am using it and so far so good.
Good luck to you all.
Roshydoshy - good luck for Friday. I hope you get the job.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -

:rotfl: that was one of my more lucid moments, just thought some people might be put off joining cos we are all so friendly with each other by now and wanted to make them know that everyone is welcome!!agree about the pink candle philosophy being included too - its such a lovely sentiment, and very very true. And is amazing with words - Im sure she will come up with the right thing to say.
no UU from my bath just now, but Ive just put my clarins eau ressourcante and the remains of my very old Angel perfumes on ebay - starting at £3 and £5 - do you lot think that would be ok?? Ive got no idea about selling perfumes !!
xDo not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
actually - thinking about the experimenting, how did the pile cream as moisturiser work??? (cant remember who it was now!)
I read this somewhere too, must try it sometime!!!! :rotfl:sundance218 wrote: »I was thinking on trying actual talc in my hair before I go to sleep at night but not sure exactly how it would work. WOuld probably have to do it on a night where I would have time to wash my hair just in case!) Has anyone tried this?
Give it a go (if you have fair hair), nowt to lose! I don't do it myself, I have tried it in the past and it makes my hair dull and lank, gak! I also hate the smell of talc.I'm still catching up on posts but I just had a little thought.
Whilst almost bursting with pride that N.P.I. has made our list of abbreviations:D:p it occurred to me that perhaps pink candle philosophy ought to be there too? What do you think?

I can't remember who it was on the Jan thread that said they were going to buy 6 copies of Glamour, it made me laugh :rotfl::rotfl:
6??? I'm going to clear the shelves!!!!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I have that kind of envy as well as Stash Envy! Much in the same way that I envy people who live in huge minimalist half empty lofts every bit as much as people who have cosy crowded country cottages. (I'm just contrary I guess!)
Me too, LOL :rotfl::rotfl:rosemary54 wrote: »I think it was woman and home march issue, now I have torn it out there is no other mention!they also have 20% off aromatherapy associates (never heard of them before)20% off the handpicked collection(ditto)20% off Jaeger and a bottle of wine at la tasca if you spend £20 on food .........so quite a good issue .
Sounds fab rosemary, must get it (cough cough).
I have one UU to report, Boots Radiance Revealed exfoliator (small GWP size). I didn't even cut it open, just chucked it in the bin when it got near the bottom of the tube. It's several years old so when I discovered it in a drawer I used it up on my feet. WIBA: noooooooooo, it's horrible stuff!!! Absolutely useless. I wonder if they still sell it! I'll put £1 into the pot for it anyway.
Off topic I know but eBay has been going v. well for me in Jan, I've saved over £2,300 (at least half of which was earned on eBay) so my deposit savings are doing great!!! Yay!

Hi all
I'm in again. Last month I only bought 2 tubes of toothpaste - because we had run out and 2 hair dyes (Boots - some deal if you bought 2) and I have .to touch up (so to speak!) every 3 weeks. So, all in all, extremely proud of what I resisted.
I have tried applying the pink rose candle philosophy and, when we were going out with my DDs the other week for my birthday meal, youngest (8) was going to wear a tiara (bless) but I saw her put it away. I asked her why and suggested that it would be such a waste to have such a beautiful tiara and leave it at home in a drawer, when she could be wearing it and look gorgeous at a local, but lovely, restaurant. She wore itand looked lovely - and I thought of you lot :T
BTW - isn't the pile cream meant as an alternative for puffy eyes ? Tho I could be apologising for confusion - as you lot seem so incredibly well informed about all such matters !0 -
Where do you buy your almond oil? I'm so impressed with my homemade sugar scrub that I will make more when it's gone but am not sure where to buy the oil.
Not that I will need any in Feb- but I like to be prepared
I bought mine from an indian food shop or you could try the ethnic section in a supermarket? It's much cheaper than holland and barrett (but maybe lower quality?:() because it's much more widely used in india. The smallest bottle was 200ml for £1.29 but there was a huge 750ml bottle for about £2.50:rotfl:but it lasts forever so I don't think I would ever use that much:D It says ktc on the front HTH:)
was the scrub just almond oil and brown sugar? I'll try this out when I've finished my last 2 scrubs:jToiletry spend £34.95 In: 10 out:130 -
Please count me in again - I managed the whole of January whoopwhoop :jAlways be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !

I got mine on eBay, it was very cheap for a 1L bottle.A year later it's still 3/4 full!!! I only do OCM once or twice a week but must start using it with sugar as a scrub too.
