  • Morning! Just uu my S&G Flake Away. I loved it but have got loads of different ones in stash so no need to buy again for a while. Is it weird to be happy when something runs out even though I liked it.

Threw out remains of BS Mango Body Butter. It had gone off big time. Therein lies the lesson to use stuff up!

Had my bath, defuzzed, scrubbed and PY(T)NT. Lovely moisturising afterwards. UU a boots botanics body lotion. WIBA?: Surprisingly, yes! Didn't expect much from this but it's like a butter in a tube. Nice enough smell, moisturises until the next day. I can even feel it when I'm in the bath 24hrs later!

Oooh, I have one of these in my stash - hated the body butter and was dreading having to use the lotion, but I might give it a go! What was the name of it?

The ultimate dream is to find a basic body lotion that would also work as a face moisturiser. How wonderful would it be not to have a separate product for each body part.:smileyhea I'm dreaming. I already abolished foot cream and hand cream, I don't have a particularly dry skin so only need 1 body cream to do all of these jobs.
    bev97 wrote: »
A face, body, hand, foot moisturiser would be great and I would buy it, but these beauty companies just make money out of us by having so many different lotions and potions for many different jobs. Before, I have used a hand lotion as a body lotion (Neal's Yard mint and bergamot hand lotion) and even used some after sun (Liz Earle
Sun Shade botanical Aftersun gel) as a refreshing eye mask - it was lovely! It was a 200ml tube and last 24mths opened - thats a lot of product for an eye treatment!:T
So why don't we all start experimenting and letting each other know which products can be truly multi-purpose and also very Money Saving. :j

Here's one from me, if it hasn't already been mentioned - Nivea soft! I discovered this travelling in New Zealand when I ran out of face cream, and it was the only thing I could find that wasn't £30+ It turned out to be a really good face cream, and awesome as a body cream as well. I always have a couple of tubs in stash now for whever I run out of my HG moisturiser (Clinique DD) or BS BButters - for me it really is almost as good as both! And it's sooooo cheap. :A:T

'Twas me. The way pile cream works is to restrict blood flow, as piles are just enlarged veins. So by putting it on your face , it's moisturising anyways, but deals with bags and dark circles under the eyes because it restricts holding fluid ( I think?)

I'm just going to say that it works :D Save confusion! Just whack it on after cleansing before bed and when you get up, wash your face as normal

This i will have to try - for some reason i've suddenly developed dark circles, and they must go :p

Hope you are all staying off the Grabbit Board! Tara747....how is that Molton Brown offer going to help your No buying toiletries for Feb:rotfl::rotfl: (PS I'll try to look out for that code but I've got a very bad memory - personally I find that stuff massively overpriced - do you have any favourite items you would recommend....)

Anyway, know it's only day 2 of Feb, but I have been very good. Been to Boots, Crabtree & Body shop at lunchtime. Free squirt of Glee perfume, bit of strawberry body butter on my hands and back at the office smelling lovely. And NIL spend! :T
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

    A query........................

My kids used to bath regularly (not that they dont now :D) but now all 3 prefer showers. However, I'm left with 3 huge bottles of Avon's bubble bath - which I cant use because it sometimes makes me itch (ezcema/sensitive skin).

Is it possible to use bubble bath as shower gel or is it too concentrated for that and I'm risking skin rashes? I notice the Body Shop bottles I use are labelled as bath/shower gel, so is there really any difference, or is it just a marketing con to get us to buy both??

I've been doing precisely that with Radox's African Sanctuary Bath Soak. As it's very liquid, using a body puff makes life much easier.
I don't think it's quite a marketing con, but bath products do tend to be less viscous - and work out cheaper to use, too.

I used OS Gourmet range Lime and Sweet Chilli Shower Spice as shampoo this morning. It was fine. In fact it was more than fine, I made sure I washed and rinsed very thoroughly and my hair was literally super-squeaky clean.

Does anyone remember washing their hair with washing up liquid in their younger days? I'm half wondering what will happen if I try that now....

    Hi Jacks

I can't take the credit for the paragraph you highlighted, that was copied from Trudi's post in January:rotfl:!

I agree that the pink rose candle philosophy needs to be included. Is McCulloch around - she highlighted the philosophy to us and can probably put it more succinctly than me?! I will then edit the opening post :).

PRCP -Pink Rose Candle Philosophy. From Erma Bombeck who said, 'If I had my life to live over again I would have burned the pink candle sculptured like a rose that melted in storage'. Don't keep things 'for best' or 'for a special occasion'. That day never arrives. Give the best to yourself now and enjoy it.

    Can I join please?

I have a huuuge toiletry stash and really want to get rid of as much of it as possible this year, especially as I'll be moving to London in the spring and storage space will be at a premium! I am however a sucker for any kind of special or limited edition product - I can quite easily walk past a regular sale, but make it a 'going soon' thing and I'll nearly always want to buy it.

I haven't included anything I use regularly, like skincare and dry shampoo and heat protection spray (although I will write about any new brands I try and whether they work or not) because I'd use them anyway, whereas the vast majority of what's on here were either gifts or bought simply because they smell nice (hence why loads of it is shower gel!).

Also, how much do people have in their 'emergency fund' per week/month? I'm thinking that might be an idea for me, with the view that it would either roll over or go into savings if I didn't spend it.

Wow, not been on for a week but there was so much to catch up on both with this and January's thread, taken me ages to read!

I had never even heard of S&G until following this thread, now I have 2 storage boxes full of the stuff!!!!:rotfl:

Me too although I understand the hype now as most products are so effective and really do work.. you get what you pay for I guess!

IN: at end of last month I stocked up with 4 boxes Garnier nutrisse multi-lights kit 1 (blonde) hair colour £18 in all, struggled to find it anywhere for ages including none in tescos, boots ind est and high street, superdrug in high st, asda, savers etc. then found 2 boxes in the next town 2 in boots and 2 in superdrug so bought all 4 although I have UU one already and will use the others. It saves me hunting around for it later, anyone else had the same problem? I'm wondering if it's been discontinued or something...

Anyway only 3 UU recently including the one mentioned above, M&S Rose Handcream WIBA? No, was part of a set from 2 christmas' ago but it didn't do much for me although it smelt nice. And the other was HBM Shampoo. WIBA? Quite possibly, it was on offer and lasted me ages and some people commented on how shiny my hair looked :D

No buys in feb and I don't intend to either despite getting a bit of a result last week with a settlement for a car accident I was involved in last year.

I will get a full 'stock' list on here at some point this month!! :p
