My February use ups(12) and ins(4):

    UU

S&G The Righteous Butter - WIBA yes
S&G Flake Away (50ml mini) - WIBA yes
No 7 P&P Moisturising Body Serum - WIBA if on VERY good offer...I resisted the recent glitch:A
Clinique Liquid facial Soap Mild (15 ml free sample) - WIBA no, nothing special and had that unperfumed smell to it
Clarins Vital Light Night (5ml sample) - WIBA no too rich
Body Shop Almond Oil Conditioning Hand Wash - WIBA maybe in a good value giftset
    Dove Soap - WIBA yes
JF Frizz Ease Straight Ahead Shampoo - WIBA no, nothing special, doesn't smell particularly nice, and I'm not convinced of the need for or effectiveness of this "straight" range. Am looking forward to starting the "brunette" products though.
JF Frizz Ease Straight Ahead Conditioner - WIBA no, as above.
JF Frizz Ease Dream Curls - WIBA yes
JF Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Strengthening Masque (25ml mini) - WIBA yes
S&G The Righteous Butter Lite - WIBA no, prefer the butter and the smell in this seems to go toward the end of the bottle.

    IN

2 Dove Deodorants (one for £0.53 and one for (£0.35)
OS Shea and Honey Shower Gel (less than £1) - to be used as handwash
Olay Regenerist Flawless Skin (7ml sample)

The use ups which I would buy again will of course not be bought until I have used up the current stash. The ins will not be included as "spends" since they were needed - currently using my last deodorant...bought two replacements as they were bargains.

ahhhhhhhhh, computer crashed again as I was writing so now have to again start :mad::mad::mad:

just sent 3 big jiffy bags to give and make up so can I please have a chitty to shoe dH why I have not done any housework yet as too busy sorting stuff?
I sent ALL the numerous sample sachets I had been hoarding to take on holidays and never did plus 3 make up bags(GWPs)lots os soaps and some make up.

good to support small charities like this one I was so annoyed at the redcross last week when 1 of its workers accosted me in the street saying my name is .....whats yours? She then started her obviously pre learned speech and would not stop despite me telling her I already supported 5 other charities. She said its only £1.60 a week:eek::eek::eek::eek:In the end I had to walk away to escape her...not impressed.

Now to see if anything else to add :D Is anyone else putting in feminine hygiene items? I stocked up a few years ago with Tesco H&B when both DD and myself used them and then my daughter moved on to other things and I no longer need them (hopefully) so I was wondering what I could do with them - glad to find a worthwhile home for them and to get some more space back.

I put in a couple of packs of bodyform which I don't like (but bought for the lipgloss and tins:o)
It does say sanitary items on the list I think...:)

I can't stand this! It really doesn't make a good impression! I support a few charities that mean a lot to me. Usually if one of these workers comes up to me in the street I take note of who they are working for and tell them I already donate to that charity...a bit naughty I know but it drives me INSANE! I also try to give to the Salvation Army collectors when I can, so friendly and polite and do some great work. Hope I've not offended anyone by saying the above :)

Got my box ready to post. It's not as glamorous as some of yours, but hopefully will help.

Nice & Easy hair dye - Natural Light Brown (belonged to DP till he gave up fighting the grey hair - and I have no desire to be a light brunette!)

6 cans of Soft & Gentle deodorants - all different scents

2 cans of Shockwaves styling mousse - twirl it and tame it (I had these when I had long hair - but had it cut short just before Xmas)

M&S Guava hand and body cream (part of gift set)

Revlon lipgloss (unwanted xmas pressie - I never ever wear lipgloss!)

Avon limited edition natural glisten lipstick (free gift but not a colour I'd wear)

Avon smooth mineral eyeshadow - Earth (from some Avon I bought off ebay - but I know I'll never wear brown)

All of these were things I was hanging onto through guilt - didnt really want to use them, but too good to throw away. Luckily the parcel comes in just under 2kg (1.964kg) according to my scales, so I should be fine if the PO scales are slightly different.

It's the charities that ring you at home and then try to guilt you into paying a monthly subscription over the phone. The childrens ones are the worst (IMHO). They hear your kids in the background and then roll out the old spiel about how would you feel if this was your child?
I went mad at one over the phone once because she would NOT take no for an answer. I said "How dare you ring and try to guilt me into paying towards your charity when you have NO idea what my financial circumstances are. I have already told you that I'm struggling to make ends meet and that my husband is in danger of losing his job due to the recession and you won't leave it. If you ever ring me again I will report you for harrassment. I won't actually ever contribute to your charity now on principle. Thank you and goodbye". Gah! I was seething. There is so much pressure from these people and most of the funds raised is wasted on marketing.
Charity shops get me too, the idea of giving was that it was 3 fold. The donator no longer wanted/ needed the item so gained space and a warm fuzzy feeling, the charity gained money from the sales and the people who couldn't afford to buy new were actually able to buy products. A by product of this was that stuff was kept out of landfill too. Nowadays, the stuff in them is (IMHO) way, way overpriced. I have been after a dresser for my dining room for a considerable amount of time and just can't afford to pay what they want for one in a charity shop. I've seen one in town nd shall go and look today but I fully expect the price to be way out of my league.
DS needs a chest of drawers for his bedroom and also a desk but he doesn't have the space so we're going to try and get him a bureau. I saw a not very nice one in fact, lots of not very nice ones, in local shops which they want >£85 for. Most are damaged. We saw a lovely one in a second hand shop, very good condition £80. I feel more inclined to buy the £80 one even if they were the same product because the second hand shop has to buy it's stock and pay business rates to the council etc. They have to make a profit and they are STILL able to sell better quality for cheaper prices than the charity shops.
It's funny (sad) because very, very occasionally, I will grab a bargain from a CS but it's more likely to be a glitch or an error rather than representing good value for money.
    Oooooh, ranty Kaz! Terribly sorry!
I might actually UU the toothpaste tonight. We'll see!

Yep, my mum and I are sending three boxes between us, and we've included pads, liners and tampons. Personally, I think these things should be provided free on the NHS to all women, but until they are, into the box with them.

We sent some to the soldiers too. Mum wrote a note on her packet asking that if it was given to a male soldier by mistake, could he pass them onto a female colleague and not polish his boots with them!

By the way, I agree about the charity collection guilt techniques. I used to support the NSPCC and they would call me every few months asking me to increase my donation. When it got to £10 per month, I refused to increase it anymore (I support a couple of others too) and they got quite shirty about it.

When I lost my job, I called them all to cancel the contributions for a while. The British Legion were lovely, incredibly sympathetic and wished me well finding another job soon. NSPCC told me I should cancel everyone else except them, and keep paying 'because it's only a tenner a month and you've at least got that'. When I told them that I really couldn't afford it, they asked me why I didn't care about abused children. I haven't given them a penny since, and never will again.

How about 'The no buying toiletries in March or mentioning February purchases Challenge'? Sub thread title 'Don't save it, use it up, you might not like it anyway'.

Rosemary - three jiffy bags! Wow!

I thought I'd have a UU to report to finish the month but the Schwarzkopf Gliss shampoo is everlasting, it would appear. My Total Effects sunless tanner moisturiser is on the cut up stage. So that will be gone sometime within the week.
Not sure if this was posted before but if you have a John Lewis handy, you can get an Origins high performance sample free by taking in an empty pot /tube of an existing moisturiser.

Thank you for the mentions - you're making me blush :o, just shows the power of the internet and I really hope the women that get the items we've sent enjoy using them and that you've all got a little more space i your homes! I went and posted my shoe box off at lunchtime.

I've bought nothing at all in February - a few UUs - slowly ploughing through what I've got left and working out what I like and would rebuy and what I don't.

I may be tempted by Glamour mag next month though.... :o
