I don't shop there regularly, and I never knew about them selling animal furs if I'm honest. I've never worn fur & never would, but hun don't worry about voicing what you feel; we all have our beliefs and ethics. I can't promise, as I don't 'do' promises (taught that you never know when circumstances might break one). I'll try though & I'll keep it in mind next time I think about going there. x

I was really worried about offending you after i wrote this so thanks for replying.:) I try not to preach.....LOL!!! I've got friends who come and visit me in London who like to go there and I don't mind taking them to have a look around (or even it's their choice if they want to buy something - the Christmas shop...) - it's just like a tourist visit really. I wonder if they still have the Diana and Dodi shrine now it's been sold?
One In - my L'Occitane soap has arrived! I got the rose one and it smells amazing! Also two sample sachets but they are miniscule ins just a splutter really :-)

I love the way our stuff all arrives at the same time! I was expecting something a bit more fancy than a white jiffy bag though and the corners of the soap had been bashed so not sure it's present quality any more :(. Is this their standard packaging or just for the cheapie offer?
I'm so tempted to buy another BS voucher, it just seems a too good deal to miss as I use some of their stuff anyway and quite want to try their banana shampoo and conditioner.

Although I have to be put on the naughty step, I was in Tesco and walked past the 21p wipes and 5 packs managed to slip into my basket, one lady next to me, put 30 in her basket, you'd have to use them everyday for the next 2 years!

I was so close to telling her about this thread.

THIRTY!!! Crikey, wonder if she is on this thread already! Keep an eye out for the INS confessions!! :rotfl:

My cashback tracked on my BS offer which takes it to £10.80 :T - so tempted to buy a couple more but I really, seriously, don't need anything and I'm finding the more stuff I have the less I appreciate it so am being strong until midnight....:A
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

IKWYM juliebuuny. Not received anything in a jiffy bag from them before. Although I haven't used L'occitane customer service myself I've heard good things about them so you could email them and query the soap. The Bonne Mere soaps are less robust and dent more easily than the Shea Butter ones - I know after dropping them in the shower:o
Btw there is some good info on these soaps, reviews and a video clip here http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.214898/walk.yah.UKHB~UK83
  • I just had to share this with you. When I posted about Pink Rose Candle Philosophy on the BBC's Ouch! Disability interests forum, I had several responses from people who often got given toiletries they couldn't use, due to medical conditions - and some who couldn't use toiletries at all.
I posted about Give and Make Up over on Ouch! and it's gone down well.
I thought this post was an absolute cracker.

As a resident of a domestic violence refuge some years ago, I remember the monthly box of goods that a well-known pharmaceutical company used to send (their factory was nearby - most refuges don't get this).

This meant so much - restored a little dignity, and it was touching that some people gave a damn. Receiving a hair brush, shampoo, and soap meant that me and my child (who had to keep going to school) could regain an ounce of self respect.

(I, like others, had no money for a long time in the refuge. Sadly had to rely on income support, which took a few weeks to come through: didn't like having benefits, but it wasn't safe for me to go to work, as my partner used to try to find me there. Won't go into the ineffective nature of police in preventing such activities... And refuges usually don't have spare cash for toiletries, etc.)

I did succumb and buy the BS voucher - I've got a few Birthdays coming up - and want to try a few things that have been recommended. :o

I sent my daughter the BS banana shampoo and conditioner for her Birthday from my stash as she loves it and I have so much other stuff to use.

So shift over and give me a place on the Naughty step :D

What this challenge is doing for me is making me think more about how I am spending my dosh - and surely using offers and deals is making it go further!!

Good to see that you are keeping your chin up Sawan, this thread is very supportive and we sisters are doing it well!!

Come to think of it - didn't we have a chap on board somewhere ?
    Where has he gone ;)
  • One UU to report - Philosophy Amazing Grace perfume. WIBA? No, it was a gift but I don't think I like it enough to buy it.

Am on to my Chanel now, pink candle philosophy and I've had it the longest :p
Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN
  • Evening all!

This thread does make me smile - everyone is so supportive. I'm really sorry to hear about your situation, Sawan, I really hope that things improve for you.

No UUs or ins but I have a dilemma. I have about an inch of Neals Yard rose facial oil left which I haven't used for ages. It's been open for about a year and the label has peeled off, but I'm fairly certain it said to only keep open for 3 months. Now is it very wasteful of me to use it up on my legs? It doesn't seem to have gone bad, but I'd prefer to continue using my new emulsion on my face. Hmm... :o

Also, if the 3-4-2 offer is still on S&G at the weekend, I think I might cave. I'm returning some clothes on Saturday, so it sort of doesn't count! :rotfl:

Thanks for that...it's so nice to hear that sending a few bits and pieces makes such a difference.

two UU for me last night
Avon senses bubble bath used as shower gel, OH unfortuantely found the bottle with about and inch in at the back of the cupboard. I wouldn't have it again as it was hard to get out of the bottle and gave me a rash on my arm.
Loreal Preference shampoo - came with the hair colourant, i didn't really like it cos it was terrible to get is all bubbly and also stank of that hair colourant smell which i don't like.

My eyes have been really stingy today, not sure why. I did use the No 7 eye make up remover last night which started them hurting, but they did calm down before bedtime after i used the Avon revitalist moisturiser, but this morning i woke up to two white patches on my eye lids so moisturised again. They have ended up hurting all day so i'm starting to worry about what's wrong with them.

I know a woman who had to go to a refuge once, and I sent her packages then via her daughter who could visit - I guess I never realised how much it may have meant. She always said thanks, but it genuinely didn't occur to me. My label came through today, and my mum is packaging up a box too.

I'm soo glad it's not just me sat here trying to justify getting another bs voucher - I'm resorting to texting my friend and telling each other not to get another one and be happy with what we've got!!:T
*now to sat on those hands until midnight*

P.S. had my 1st uu - dove 24hr intensive hand cream WIBA: maybe, but only when used up sanctuary hand cream! (and 2 S&G hand foods)...
