  • Hi Pmum, thank you very much for taking the time to explain what you think happens. I really hadn't a clue and hadn't heard of anyone that had special circumstances from last year. My daughter had an infection right throughout the 3 tests and her scores were indeed a lot lower than her practise papers in school. We have both medical and educational evidence. I will be happy with whatever school she gets, but she was genuinely was at a disadvantage for about 6 weeks. Went on so long as our doctors surgery lost a sample which was to be tested and was an ongoing saga. Didn't get the all clear until January. The other couple of schools are a lot closer which would be the advantage for us, but we are happy with whatever happens.

    Thanks again:T
  • I wonder if the lack of posts here has something to do with the Northern Ireland PACE blog revealing the quintile scores for this year's test and other interesting information provided to parents of children taking the AQE tests.

I was astounded to learn that AQE were charging for re-marks for pupils on FSM. Smacks of discrimination against the disadvantaged. The AQE chairman, Sir Kenneth Bloomfield does not come out of the revelations well.

I had been so looking forward to the comparisons of the three Disney themeparks but have come to realise that some posters on this board are funnier and stupider than Goofy.

Er.. no, I think more likely is that we have all expressed our hopes and fears, asked our questions, received some helpful advice and empathy and are now settling ourselves to yet another long wait until we actually find out where our children are going to go in September! Only so much theorising we can do when we know we won't have the answer till May!!

I've been dipping in and out of this forum over the past 2 weeks. I agree with Rach39 that there's not much more to say until results time in May. Such a long wait though and it's on my mind EVERY day.
  • Snojo, you took the words out of my mouth. My sentiments exactly. Its just a long waiting game and not much more really to add at the moment. I still have a nosy to see if anyone has any more WORTHWHILE information.

    Take care all

Can anyone tell me what the score ranges for the quintiles were this year? - thanks
  • Same here...I have been checking the thread for news but I guess we all just have to cool our jets and try and distract ourselves.

Hi, did you not get a copy with the AQE results?

My daughter did the AQE last year, so just wondering how this years quintile score ranges differed from last year. I know last year 113 was the lower range of quintile one.

    Just curious!! - Anyone? :)
