snowJo, I know - same here but methinks we will have to grin and bear it. Shame it has to take so long, a few years ago my friends child was told which school the same day as the results. Still, swings and roundabouts....0

I was tempted to ask AQE could I do the tests too just to see if I had learnt anything myself:D
I think nerves got the better of my DShis pre test scores in school and at home where a lot better than his final score, but what will be will be, if I go over things anymore it will be the big White House for Me:rotfl:
Oh I know, she was the same scoring around 110. In 2009 test she got 115! So was disappointing. She was not nervous at all, but she wasn't well either. I have trawled through every last piece of info I can find, and nothing more I can think of to do.
Its a LONG LONG LONG wait! I tried to get info from one of the Head Mistresses, but she was having none of it!0 -
I have tried to put the whole thing out of my mind, but find myself drawn back to this forum almost every day where I end up reading the posts over and over again. If only the AQE office or the Education boards would give us a little snippet of information to keep us going.0

Snojo, I am exactly the same, I check at least twice a day! Just in case I miss anything. Its a bit sad really, its just after all the hard work, and we still don't know. I realise we all have to wait, but you never know what bit of info might come up. (prob not mind you!):o0

I'm just so glad that there are others out there just like me, so I know I'm not the only one who can't get the darn thing out of my head. My husband doesn't think about it at all, so the forum is my support. I think I've read every post from last year's forum as well as all from this forum. How sad am I??????0

AQE need to get their act together and publish some decent statistics on the exam results. At least we would have something to speculate on till the next envelope comes through the door.0

Victoria College in Belfast admit pupils based on results from both AQE and GL tests. This is a legal minefield and the school has been warned about the perils of continuing the practice. Two different tests cannot be used for the same purpose - common sense dictates that only one can be fit for purpose. So far parents have not complained about this nonsense but that is likely to change this year. News filtering in suggests that Scott Naismith of MCB and Dierdre O'Hare of Wallace High may be considering a similar venture in order to hold the line on behalf of the Governing Bodies Association. The impossible quest for a single test continues even though the Catholic hierarchy have directed that academic selection by testing for grammar schools will end next year and the PPTC schools effectively rejected the AQE tests since using it would have made delivering an end to selection impossible. The only reason that one test is being sought is to drag down all of the remaining non-denominational and controlled grammar schools to join the Catholic schools in turning comprehensive. Ask your chosen grammar school principal to confirm or deny this assertion.0

Snojo, I am with you all the way, we're both nutcases then! I'm a single mum, so nobody to go on to. My daughter never mentions it.
Martin, for once I totally agree with you regarding having 2 different tests, and Victoria accepting both tests. How can it possibly be fair when children are applying for the same school after doing different tests. Lots of different arguments for it being unfair. Something will have to change in the next year or two I suspect. Its getting them all to agree. My daughter has applied for non-denomonational schools but yet they only accept AQE scores.0 -

So how come, all the grammars that I put down for my daughter are non-denominational but yet they only accept AQE, with the exception of Victoria? Its all a bit of a mess. Never should have done away with the 11 plus without something to replace it or some form of fair way to apply to grammar schools. There should have been a vote to let the parents decide if they wanted to keep or do away with grammars.0
