Pmum, thanks for that. I thought they were about the same, couldn't remember where I had read about last years quintiles.

Schools cut off points etc will probably be about the same as last year. Only difference might be, more pupils may be putting down grammars for their top choices this year. Going by last years thread, a lot of parents thought their childs score wasn't enough or were discouraged from putting grammars top. Speculation again! Will have to stop doing this.

Hey facingthef, don't be so down beat.:) My daughter got 95. She was expected to get a lot more and in one of the 2009 actual tests she got 115. Had an infection through all of the exams which put a dampner on it all. It was disappointing but we are still hoping for Hunter House. Are you in the Belfast area?
  • Thanks Doggies, I just thought he would get more since he was flying in the practice papers. Still, we are in North West and he has put in for the Foyle and L/D, their entry can be quite low so I am hopeful.Their open day was absolutely brilliant...great staff and pupils.

    Hi
My daughter got 93 and we've put HunterHouse down as well. They took 94 last year and a 91 with exceptional circumstances. 95 has a good chance as it was a lower birth rate year too.
I hope my DD2 gets in as I have a daughter in first year, sorry year eight, already there. She got 111 last year so there wasn't this wait-and-see we have this year!

Morning all, Facingthefuture, he still did well. I think thats why a lot of us our disappointed. My wee one was doing great in the practice tests as well. She knew the tests inside out. Still made silly mistakes here and there but was great. A lot of the kids were thinking they'd get much higher. Fingers crossed for you he gets his school. I think he will!

Belfmum, does your daughter like Hunter House? We put 2 Lisburn grammars top in order to get the bus pass. Of all 3 we got a lovely feeling about Hunter House. All the girls seemed to be very happy and enthusiastic. My daughter has special circumstances so fingers crossed. Been sussing out how they deal with special circumstances in each of the 3 schools. I know now how Friends work and no chance really. But would be delighted with Hunter House. Contacted them and they said had it of been last year she def would have got in with 95. I'm sure your daughter will definetely get in with a sibling there.

Friends havn't even received forms yet, said it'll be about 2 weeks. Its such a process!

A very good score in my humble opinion;)

A lot more than my DS who was very disappointed with his, but not as much as his poor daddy who spent hours doing practice tests:o

    What will be will be:)
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Hi stevey, I can sympathise with that. I spent hours and hours going over Maths! Think I was near ready for the men in the white coats by the end of it all!

    HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! :j

I was tempted to ask AQE could I do the tests too just to see if I had learnt anything myself:D

I think nerves got the better of my DS :o his pre test scores in school and at home where a lot better than his final score, but what will be will be, if I go over things anymore it will be the big White House for Me:rotfl:

The whole thing is driving me mad. I can't believe we still have to wait almost 3 months for the next envelope coming through the door. I'd rather know now which school my child is going to so I can help prepare him. If only I knew someone on the "inside" who could give me a clue as to what sort of marks are being accepted in certain schools..........
