Pigsmightfly,
The Belfast Telly have put their article with the scores back on their web site. A few schools seem to be missing but I have a copy from last year around somewhere so if there is one you need that is not there let me know and I'll see if it is on the original.
The BT article is in the Education (Post-Primary Selection) heading and is entitledRevealed: Northern Ireland's grammar school entrance test lottery0 -

Perhaps this post - 2nd sticky post on the NI board page - will explain further.0 -

Not at all, everyone is more than welcome here, but as others have said, your postings have no relevance to the topic, you and your friend Martin just seem to be on an education rant. Maybe you could start your own thread and talk amongst yourselves in there;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

Hi PMF
Page 2 (post 34) of this thread has a list of what scores were accepted by schools last year, several schools took scores in the 80's, some even lower although I'm not sure if special circumstances applied in these cases.
The West of our wee country seems to take lower scores, maybe due to lower number of applications.
I wasn't going to bother applying to a grammar for my son after his score came in lower than expected, but teacher and headmaster convinced us to apply, as the school took lower scores last year and the numbers this year sitting the test were lower:o
Its a long wait till May now:o Good luck to everyone with their applications.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

Thank steveymp - hope you get what you want too,I make it 101 days.....I wish I could forget about it till nearer the time but I darn well can't. I wonder when the schools actually know, I suppose it must be after the cut off for the third choice? Early May perhaps...maybe it will be on wikileaks?:D0 -
Hi Everyone
Have been keeping an eye on this site (and the previous thread relating to 2010). Don't know why really. It has become almost obsessional. Think it's something to do with wanting to share the stress/concern etc. You know what they say about a problem shared being a problem halfed and all of that.
My son hopes to go to local GS. Got 111 in AQE. I'm fairly confident of having a big smiley face come end of May, but you never know. Good luck to all here and here's hoping.
Cheers

Hi Everyone, just back from 4 days at Disneyland Paris, and 2 days in Paris. Honestly didn't think much about the whole test scenario. Back to porridge and couldn't wait to get on here again for a nosy.
Some irrelevant posts as ever and some nice ones!
Let the waiting game commence. Oh I just wish it was over.

"Some irrelevant posts as ever and some nice ones!"]
Do you mean that only the "nice ones" are relevant?0 -
36square, it is a difficult enough time for parents without reading nasty, self indulgent posts from certain people.
I choose now not to respond or read these.0 -
Hi Doggies, that sounded like a perfect break but I know what you mean - it's in the back of your mind. I know what you mean about the posts, still it's the only place I can find to "talk" without boring my family/friends about it. It's such a long time to wait, almost worse than waiting for the result. The good thing is that my ds is not talking about it nor are his friends, they are more concerned with a schools quiz competition. Also a few of his friends are going to each of the possible schools so it should ease the transition. Still, the control freak that I am detests being in limbo about this.:o
How did your ds/dd enjoy Disney, were they above the height restrictions? Been thinking about going to the french one...0
