    Thank you Sarah :)

Its encouraging to hear everyone's stories and know I'm not alone in this feeling!

It seems I might have underestimated my debt :o (well... how far I am into my overdraft), its so confusing with all the matched betting and MFN comings and goings etc. When all my current bets are settled (tomorrow) I will know for certain and I will post it here, even if it has to be accompanied with lots of these :o:o:o:o:o:o

    :rotfl:

Tomorrow is day one of my new budget so wish me luck! ;)

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...

Ok... deep breath... the balance is -£770  :o

But that's not all frivolous spending I have to say... it includes about £450 spent on my exhibition (getting everything ready, going up there for a week etc) and the trip on Saturday to see this editor bloke. And generally living!! Not affordable, I know, but I don't regret doing some things to get my name known.

Anyway, that's quite a lot to pay off and its going to be a while I can tell, unless I can get tons of overtime!! I've made a good start today with a no spend day :) but that's mainly cos I'm not at work because I stayed in to get a delivery for my mum so that's 6 hours pay I missed :( but I promised ages ago I'd be here and its the least I can do.

So.... I've been trying to come up with imaginative cheap Christmas present ideas  and some way to afford things like the gym (I really don't want to stop yet, I love swimming!) and the photography that I want to get back into. Perhaps my MFN money can be for those things?!

That's a good idea!! I could gift my time to my brother to show him how matched betting works... and he'd get the profits from it! :D

Hi Kath only just found this thread.:o

Sorry dont come in dfw much at the mo.

    Sending you a ((hug))

One trick I have when I want to spend is to go into my everything a pound charity shop.

Got some `next` trousers the other day, and a pair of curtains to make some cushion covers out of.
    Total spend £2.:T

    Hi messy!!

I need a charity shop like that! The ones round here seem to quite pricey really, £5-6 for a decent pair of trousers like 'next', its better than in the actual shops but £1 would be fab!!

I don't suffer so much from the urge to spend exactly... just a feeling that I want things and somehow they'll make me feel better. I know I don't need them being glued to DFW has had some impact!! but its still hard. I feel positive about taking pleasure from not spending though... it felt so good when I was very strict before... and I've got people keeping an eye on me now! ;)

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi Kath,

Just been reading the updates since last week & glad to see you're feeling more positive. For Christmas, why don't you do a 'voucher' to take pictures of family members either individually or in a group? these things cost a fortune in photography studios - you can pick up cheap-ish frames that look good in places like matalan, then it's your time and the cost of developing & enlarging only!

That's a lovely idea - you could frame the voucher for now, so as to have something to wrap up, with the promise of a portrait to go in the frame later on...
