I would like to join the marathon challenge but not yet sure how I am going to fit it in - might need to downscale to the half marathon challenge. I am not going to log my times as it will be a mixture of walking and running (whatever I can fit into my full-time job, 2 kids, 1 DH and 3 zumba sessions a week life).

Ooh, lots of new people - Hello everyone! :hello:

Toffee'n'tom - Never heard of it, sorry. I have found that many of these spa treatments do give an inch loss, although it's only temporary (a few days at most), so is only really worth doing for special occasions when you want to look your best. I haven't read up about this one though, so it may be different. Do they mention how long the treatment lasts?

Eric - Congratulations! That really is amazing!!! :j Both the running, and the loose clothes!!!

Countrymusicfan - Not sure what to suggest, but will have my fingers crossed for you on thurs!

Well we didn't end up getting the treadmill last night, should be tonight instead. I'm getting really agitated now as I just want to get on with this challenge!!!

Betty - I bet if you worked outside of your home in a job you enjoyed, food and weight would no long be an issue. It's tough being at home on your own and being under pressure from work. A saint would reach for the biscuit tin

So true BB, but I am going to try to be more positive, even if my job is rubbish, eating carp all day makes me feel worse! :(

Good to see you Sary, glad all's going well with the business.

Dinah - I dont know why you shouldn't be able to do the marathon challenge on your crosstrainer if you have a bad knee

Have cruches. My sides and shoulders ache like !!!!!!y. Must have lost an inch at least!

Cor that must be good exercise! Did you get a hula hoop? I've seen them in the pound shop i'm sure!

I'd like to do the marathon challenge - but still not sure how brave I am going to be about running outside. I really wanna do it though! So please sign me up for a half marathon fred :)

As a side note, I think fred deserves some sort of 'Admin Queen' or 'Excel Goddess' trophy!!

Found an excellent new diet - watching How clean is your house! the only TV show you can't snack to cos it's SO gross!!!

Ahh good idea betty, i'll defo go into my local pound shop to see if i can grab a hula hoop from in there!

I always feel paranoid running, is there a countryside route you can take? I often find i don't mind running if its a car just going past, they're not watching me for long enough!!

Please can someone tell me why we're not counting the cross trainer? I was really looking forward to this challenge, but my knee can't cope with the pressure of running and I can only go about a mile walking before it gets very wobbly, so I was going to do the marathon on the cross trainer as it's so low impact.

Eric, which carbs would these be please? I've sort of avoided them out of fear this week except for a few apples and grapes, and when we went to a friends for dinner on Saturday and I had two small tortilla wraps. Other than that it's been meat and veg.

Booked a girlie holiday with my best friend for two weeks time. Managed to get a great deal so going to a nice 5* place for a bit of pampering in the sun. I'd love to get under the 10stone barrier before I go (last weeks weigh in was 144.4lbs, so about 1/4 of a stone to go).

I cant see there being a problem with doing the marathon on a cross trainer, upto FS i guess

I think we should report any distance covered by any means of exercise towards the marathon challenge. It isn't a competition but a personal goal anyway, so I think anything goes. Just my opinion though.
