Congratulations Granny Hester & welcome to little Maggie!

Having a rare day in today! Usually our weekends are frittered away fitting in all our family duties but after our bowling trip yesterday I think we can tick them all off our list and enjoy a day to ourselves!!

Going to make (yet another!!) start on our huge decluttering project. We could never move house as it would take us a year to pack.

Any advice on getting rid of leftovers when kids leave home??!! DS1 now has his own house which he moved into straight from Uni. DS2 has moved back in after Uni.

We never seem to have enough time or space to get to the bottom of the pile of sorting & getting rid of stuff as by the time they get the chance to look through it it's been put somewhere out of the way again!!

Also going to get a meal plan together so whoever gets in first knows what we are having for dinner.

Hugs to all those in need.

    TTFN

    Karen

    Hi Guys,
Just to say a big Thank You to all of you for sorting out Face Book for me today xx Talk about role- reversal my DD is lecturing me on the perils of adding strangers as friends. I told her these people are not strangers - they are my friends xx

    Going to read thread now...

    Afternoon all!

I have tidied the house and put washing out on the line for the first time this year! We didn't end up making curry yesterday as we had to go to the shops and didn't get back till late... so going to make it tomorrow. Roast chicken today, I don't know whether to not have roasties at all or just have boiled potatoes instead.. going to overload on the veg too.

OH is working again and taken pup with him so i'm on my lonesome :(

  • Hya everyone,
Not been able to read all today's thread, took a while to catch up with yesterday's.
Many congratulations on the safe arrival of baby Maggie. What fantastic news that mum and baby are safe and sound. Must get on, hope to come back later, Silver x

Congratulations Hester on the birth of your darling grand daughter , I had a peep on your blog at the picture and she looks beautiful.
Very chilly here today, have been back to the hospital today to get a new caste for daughters wrist as she woke up this morning and her hand was so swollen that the caste was digging in .So have to go back again in two days once the swelling has gone down to get a proper caste put back on:mad:.Got home to find the lamb cooking and all veg prep done cheers boys:D, they had hoovered polished front room.Swept stairs and landing flooring and put washing machine on so am now relaxing on my lovely christmas pressie (my reclining chair) with a blanket over my legs and a mug of tea surfing for a while.
Enjoy the day what ever you are doing, keep safe, happy and most of all stay warm

    afternoon all!

will read the thread shortly. Been off to Morrisons this morning and stocked up the cupboards -also treated myself to a copy of the BBC Good Food mag:j dont usually buy these but as it was recommended I thought I'd try it. Looking forward to a read with a cuppa later when all my jobs are done.

We all had a good time last night with DS1 - the pub is only 5 mins walk away and is a nice traditional little pub - no loud music and was mainly more mature people there, very pretty black and white pub.

DS1's gone off for breakfast now with his friends - 2 girls he was at school with and has remained close friends with since. They've gone to an American style diner which they like to frequent. Nice to see him enjoying himself after his recent problems.

    Plans for later

pork steaks for tea(quorn for me) with roasters and veggies and stuffing.
WM just finished its second load. Upstairs hoovered just got downstairs to do.
    Dogs need walking.

Its a lovely day here although a bit 'fresh' nice to see the sunshine. DH and I have been discussing what ve we are going to grow this year - need to try harder with this this year due to the price of food!

have a great day all, will pop back when I've had a read x
    Do what you love :happyhear

Washing is blowing on the line for the 1st time in ages.
Beef is cooking & starting to smell yummy.
I've added a couple of extra pics of Maggie to my blog, I've had a cuddle, DGS already dotes on his newest sister, DGD1 isn't so sure yet but seems mainly disinterested. DGD1 is 3 today so my mad daughter is having a birthday party for her, fortunately only 4 children are invited, she was wrapping pass the parcel when we arrived.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
