At long last, I have managed to sort out the Android access :j. It was driving me demented and I thought the netbook would end up over the garden fence at one point this afternoon. I even went on you tube to look at the cache of videos on there about the setting up of the Android and lots of other people struggled too - made me feel better knowing I was in good company :D

Also, managed to obtain a £20 refund from Tesco Direct towards upgrading the memory thingy - very happy with that as at one point, I was prepared to give them £20 to take it back after all the frustrations I had with it :D

    Off for a drink now.

I bought two of the red netbooks which are now set up and running but I have been unable to locate the product key for the microsoft office trial with either system. I have tried looking on the netbooks, for a card with the sticker and on the box but to no avail.

Could someone please advise where they have located their product key so that I can activate our trials.

    Many thanks.

For any techies out there.....Why does the original advert describe this as 160gb and in my system it shows a max of 132gb. At least that's what my one says, anyone else?

Windows reports the size correctly, the hard drive makers are a little more economical with the truth, 1MB is 1024KB, and 1GB is 1024MB, the hard drive makers round it down to 1000Kb and 1000MB respectively resulting in a 7% difference in size.

A 160GB hard drive in reality is around 152GB in Windows, and I would presume the rest will be set aside for a recovery partition (net books not having a rom drive it's normally on the drive and accessed by pressing f9 at start up).

It is a trial, there is no product key.

It keeps asking for one and says that it will lock after 25 accesses if I don't input one.
  • It will lock after 25 accesses unless you input the product key. The 25 accesses is effectively the trial period. i.e. You can try the software and decide whether you want to pay to continue using it. If you want to continue using the software and choose to pay, then you will receive a product key that you can input. That product key will then allow you to use the software indefinitely and will not prompt you to enter the product key each time you start the software.

Has anyone got into trouble trying to get a refund on a BLUE one? I like money, but am too scared to try phoning!

I haven't opened the thing yet either, still debating whether I want one. Hubby wouldn't touch it with a bargepole :o (likes his memory and graphics cards...)

It's at £270 now. Wouldn't it be better ebaying it, rather than getting a refund?

These can be taken back for a full refund.....or you can try for a partial refund (goodwill gesture) on either colour.
