With regards to the memory upgrade, I've just installed 2gb from Crucial [ordered sunday night, free first class delivery, arrived today]
For some reason it didn't come up when using their online scan but the code is CT25664AC800 - 2gb 200 pin DDR2 SODIMM PC2-6400 CL6
Took a few minutes to install, very straight forward
Also, there is a discount code floating around for 7% off, and possible cashback, but I paid £23.42 delivered which seems a good price
Hope this helps someone

Thanks, yes, just noticed your thread reading back!
The 1gb RAM that came out was made by Kingston and is 6400, which I understand is slightly faster than the 5300 - not that it matters in these

I got mine direct from Crucial I used there online checker just to be doubly sure. I didnt at first notice much difference with ram but now it does seem quicker. The 6400 should in theory be quicker but it depends on the computer where it can use the extra speed0

Once I'd found a small enough screwdriver changing the memory was a doddle. Savemoney, I used your link to Crucial to order it, thank you!0

Any ideas on best ways of charging this battery to gain max usage and long term life. Up til now I've just been charging up over night and using off and on during the day until it's flat. Is charging for more than a few hours not good?0

Thanks to everyone for the tips on the best place to buy extra RAM (plus codes) and details of RAM needed. Bought 2GB from Crucial with 7% discount code. Selected 2-5 days free delivery, but arrived next day. Sat down on Friday and changed RAM. As a non-technie I wouldn't have gone there without seeing the YouTube vid and advice from you all. Thanks MSEsFree thinker.:cool:0
