i have also noticed on other threads thats people are ordering the ram from crucial , but from what i can see they are sending the pc2 5300 out , the ram that came out of my machine is pc2 6400 , basically the 5300 is slower ram , i dont know how it would affect the performance of the machine but if nothing else it is the principle , their not selling the best item for the job , just one that would do the job. Courtesy of my OH, he has more knowledge than me.

You can get pc2 6400 ram from several places:

  • No reply from Tesco's as yet, bar the 'we have recieved your email' guff. I'm like a dog with a bone now. I doubt they'll make that sort of mistake again, they must be inundated!

I was asked how do you set up Android to start up the Acer as it only takes seconds to start up from Android.

On the Windows desktop there is an icon showing the little Android (says Acer Configuration Manager for Android TM).

Click on that and it will bring up a box saying ' Do you want to allow the following programme from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer? ), click Yes.

Brings up a box for Boot Options (top left tab).

It shows an icon for Windows and one for Android, click on the Android then press OK.

If you boot up in Android and don't do anything for a given time ie 10 seconds then the system will change over to Windows.

You can go from Android to Windows by clicking the little arrow in the top left of the Android desktop.

You can't go from Windows to Android though, you have to close down and restart the netbook.

    ;)

I followed the above advice but no matter what I do, I still cannot get Android to work properly. It opens on the Android page but when I click on the www icon, it comes up with a page that says connection problem. What am I doing wrong?

well my mums has called offered just a return offered, emailed them no reply yet , tried calling the 01992 number jst keeps ringing and ringing,
she has now called trading standards for false advertising ,as is going to take it as far as she can ,
before she takes it further on monday any one else have a another number to try instead of 01992 ? she tried the 0845 yesterday.
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec
  • dollydee, mine was exactly the same, so we just faffed about on the internet on windows and will rope husband in to take a juke at it later. nikkit72, I would imagine trading standards will say that Tesco's offering money back is just a goodwill gesture and that they don't have to and a full refund is perfectly acceptable, but I want money back, lol!

no trading standards say they should of offered her a free upgrade to what was advertised , a refund of the difference for the proccesors , or return them , so TESCO should of offered her a refund of the difference !!!

updating to windows 7 is the way to go, the reason being is that it can utilize all the memory that you put in it , if you upgrade this netbook to 2gb it will use , where as if you where using xp it would not

This is incorrect, any OS will benefit from extra RAM, the most likely advantage to most netbook users is multi-tasking, say having a WP program open, and then multi windows/tabs on a web browser, 1GB might show a slow down whereas 2GB wouldn't.

You might be thinking of 64bit Windows, where a machine can use more than 3GB of RAM while 32bit versions can't "see" or utilise any additional RAM over the 3GB.
