Running is non-existent this week sadly... but I am getting plenty of exercise in atm so when I build up my stamina I'll be back to it properly. The personal trainer guy made me do sprints, which was great at the time but sore afterwards lol.Hi ladies!
This losing business is hard enough without additional "spanners" being thrown into the works, so well done all you ladies who are perservering despite other health complications :T
Tara, well done on the bike ride, what are your exercise plans for the weekend? Glad to see the old no choc thread being resurrected too.....!!
I have done 2out of 3 pledged exercise half hours so far this week, pretty pathetic for me, I know, but at least I've got started this week. Will squeeze the other one in at the weekend, then at least I can look this thread in the eye with some sense of self-respect IYKWIM!!
Haven't been angelic this week, not naughty either, but I know how goodI have to be to lose .....however the scales are showing a modest downward shift this morning, so that is actually spurring me on to stay on track and get another result on monday. I am 1lb away from getting under the next stone, and that's always a great place to reach, so.........:D
Have a good Friday and a great weekend ladies!
Totally agree with your first statement Bronnie.
Re weekend exercise - um, I am going to mum's so probably not much (maybe a walk or two) but I am bringing my 2kg hand weights for some resistance work! :T I will also be eating sensibly. The no choc thread needed to come back, I think chocolate really is my downfall. I have warned my mum to hide ALL the chocolate and biccies in her house before I get there this evening! Well done on your loss btw, good going and so close to the next stone marker! I weighed myself this morning too, 1lb off since Monday (144lbs) but I am still up overall since 1 Feb so not exactly celebrating.
Welcome, Cherry56!! :A

Yes but this could be your turnaround point now your body's readjusting to the new exercise regime and responding the way you want it!
Try hard to keep off the real naughties this weekend, enjoy some indulgent healthy stuff, lots of nice fruit etc and make those walks fast walks!
You could surprise yourself next week with a better loss and then think how glad you'll feel!
Part of my not being angelic this week was the Indian takeaway I had last night. However, only ate half a portion with some cucumber raita and steamed rice. The takeaway I use cooks with very little oil/ghee (hate those Indian takeaways where you open them and there's a load of oil floating on the surface) Also it was a citrus dish, with fresh lemon, loads of ginger, onion and garlic and quite spicy, so a little goes a long way.
Tonight or tomorrow I will have the other half, but no rice this time, but I will steam some spinach, make a low fat raita with red onion, and have some fresh chopped mango. So all the side dishes will be healthy, low carb and I can enjoy the rest of my feast guilt-free! Yum!0 -

Good point Bronnie. I am now feeling better about it lol. :T Ironic that the week I scale back on the exercise is the week I actually see a loss. But you're right - now is the time to keep on track and not be disheartened!

Actually, I've done it. Headed off for the Post Office with the last of my current ebay parcels today at 12.39, knowing PO shuts at 1pm, so half walked, half ran (well maybe 75% walked 25% ran). Feeling very:A.
On a roll now, will definitely fit another one in over the weekend.
It's not the doing it, it's the thinking about doing it that's the worst!0 -
2lbs loss for me this week, 3lbs total for the month. Will not make the half stone target for the month but am pleased anyway. Have lost 7lbs now since the new year, so an average of a pound a week, I would be happy if I could keep that going - and keep it off

Bronnie, you are so right! It is thinking about it and putting on the trainers/jacket that's the hardest bit. Well done, I am very proud of you. :A:A:A:A
Shoe Gal, congrats on your losses so far! :j
My weekend is going ok so far, haven't eaten too badly but haven't done much exercise either. I'm about to do some weight exercises and then I will go for a walk. I'm on my own in the house for a few hours today so I need to be shouted at by you lovely ladies NOT to eat junk!!!
I had a big brekkie today, also broke my no chocolate challenge yesterday and am feeling very guilty.
And I won't make it to the gym on Monday (work do in the evening and won't be finished till late).
I am really annoyed that my exercise routine is getting so disrupted (which is a good thing in itself, I guess, since it shows that I actually want to exercise).
I need to refocus.
I've also been looking ahead to my goals later in the year (trying not to get too despondent about falling short of my goal in time for this upcoming holiday). I have another trip away in late April and 3 weddings to attend, the first of which is on 20 May. Which is exactly 3 months away!! I am, therefore, officially challenging myself to lose half a stone per month over the next 3 months (1.5 stone in total). There will be lots of people I know at this first wedding, some of whom will not have seen me since I put on weight, so that is a MASSIVE incentive to lose it!
I'm glad I wrote all that down, hopefully it (and you lot) will help me to stay on the wagon. One day at a time!
I'm back with my personal trainer on Tuesday (he's doing a promo introductory rate, very MSE), and will put in a superhuman effort after my naughtiness this week. Next weekend OH and I are going for a mini-break, not far away, just to a nice village with lots of scenic coastal walks nearby, so I shall make sure to get in as much walking as possible! One last push before the holiday! :T:T:T:T:T

Well done, shoe gal and coco!
tara, you are definitely "in the zone", with the support of this thread, we are definitely going to get things back in control!! There is no other option.......otherwise the only other way is UP and we sure don't want that!
Managed to slot in another fast walk today, did it in 23 mins today(it's sooo cold here, need to walk fast to keep warm!), which means I need to extend the route a bit next week.
Next week's challenge is to get back to the gym for 2 classes, as well as the 3 x half hour walks! I can do it!
Weigh in tomorrow; if it's a pound off , I'll be very lucky!!0 -
Bronnie, I have absolute faith in you! Well done on this week, you have done so well. Good luck at WI tomorrow, I have my fingers crossed for you.
And thanks for the reassurance. I don't know what I would do without this thread. I am currently eating pears and trying to avoid the junk food in the house.
