    Morning ladies!

Weigh in today. My scales weigh in quarter pounds and are showing a 0.75lbs loss. (Disinclined to round it up or down, if that's ok dragon!). That's a total loss of 3.75lbs so far , although it feels better to say 7 of these

    LOL!!

Slowish I know, but strangely this time I'm not as impatient as usual. In the past I've lost twice that amount in my first week on diets.

However, after December and January, when my weight went on and then wouldn't budge, this slow but steady trend, without too much deprivation, feels really encouraging. I think I've been so mucked up with yoyo dieting plus chucking in the age factor and supposing to need less calories as you get older anyway, , I was really worrying that my metabolism was never going to respond normally to a sensible regime any more.

The message I've got is not to give up when you feel you haven't got the results you deserve one week or you think you've blown it. Carry on the good work and benefits will show up in time, but only if you persevere!!

Even at this rate, my final weigh in of Feb will hopefully see me below the next stone mark, so that will feel like a good place to end the month on!

    Have a good day y'all!

Congrats Bronnie! I didn't WI this morning as was at mum's (she has no scales) so will do it tomorrow, desperately hoping for a loss. You are right about the slow/steady thing too. I have been inspired to try interval training again, going to go for short sprints/walking intervals to burn lots of fat.

    Love the lard analogy!

    Hi everyone,

I have just found your thread and was hoping I could join.

I am a bit of a yo-yo dieter and would really like to shift the weight once and for all. In the past I lost 3 stone for my friends wedding in mexico 2004, 2 stone for my sisters wedding in 2006 and then 5 stone before discovering I was pregnant with my son Oct 2009. However, after each event I always put on what I have lost, plus a bit more. I gave birth in June 2010 and haven't lost anything since, so in January this year I set myself a four stone target. I haven't got an event as such to aim for, but the big 40 birthday is in June 2012, so would like to be a be a reasonable size by then.

I started off pretty good in january with a 6lb loss in first week, but recently my motivation has slipped again. I would love to keep a regular weight loss going and hope that if I have to log it in with you, that might help.

Finally Congratulations / Good Luck with all your weight losses!!!
