yes i was doing 40 hours then dropped down yes i was paying over the odds as doing two jobs although with the LA still had to pay extra. No im not boasting as people say but like i said ive worked hard for over 17 years solid no breaks with no IS etc so now i do feel entitled to money that i have paid into.

In March i can go back to work and get the extra like i said and will do but just cant stand how people just automatically judge you because you are on benefits.

I do laugh though how people go up in arms in these forums, god forbid if i really needed advice and this is how i was treated. I do feel sorry for the OP who needed help.

There have been deletions but I doubt at the request of long term posters. I assumed that it was you or another newbie who had run crying to Abuse.

I got pulled, must have been a naughty girl :rotfl:

    It's your attitude.

  • I agree, abby35, it's your attitude that has ticked people off, not the fact that you are claiming benefits.

Re the fact that you have been paying taxes for 17 years, in the great scheme of things, where someone with no work breaks might have a working life of approx 40 years, 17 years is a mere drop in the ocean.

Nope...not my style to run "crying" . That would take up a few mins of my precious time on the person who posted the abusive post.....I find most people arent actually worth those few minutes.

  • Hello again

I finally managed to get throught to tax credits today to discuss the shortfall. They said it is beacuse of the difference between the estiamted income figure we gave them a good few months ago and the actual figure we gave them last week.We stupidly didnt write the estimate figure down except on the declaration form so cant tell what the difference was but it was less than £800,they couldnt tell me over the phone what figure we gave them which I thought was bizzare.

If we would have contacted them sooner the payments could have decreased smaller and sooner apparently so that is a big kick up the bum to us to be more on the ball,we mormally are to be honest but we have had a bad year sorting my mum out as my dad passed away and tax credits was the last thing on my mind.

Anyway I have asked them to extend the period of time where we pay the overpayment back and they have put the request through and should let us know in writing soon.

Thankyou to all that offered their advice on this matter it really did help and was very much apprecited :T:):T

To anyone thats dipped into this thread,as you may see a good few posts have been deleted (not at my request, even though I was annoyed) as people had waded in to give their opinions on why I and others should not get tax credits and how things were different for them and some people even put me down as bad for having 4 children.

The title of my post was to ask people for advice and support not to be judged.I thank all of you that stuck up for me even though you dont know me.;)

To anyone that wants to carry on with their opinions on the benefit system there is a proper place on this forum where you can voice those opinions in the discussion section, that will then cause no problems when other people post here just wanting help and support.

    Thanks

    Kelly x
