Good afternoon chums ,well I intended to get up this morning and get so much done and so far I have done very little .Just started to get on with my housework (been a bit remiss this week owing to BIG essay to be in by next Monday)and the phone went and it was my lovely DGS Danny.'Hi Granny any chance of a bacon sarnie please ?'
Yes I said ,no problem.Danny arrived at around 10.30 and as I haven't seen him much for a couple of week as he's been doing 12 hour shifts plus commuting to London. He stayed and we had a great long discussion about his job, girlfriend, the lack of trains on the Southeast rail, politicians, and Alexander Armstrong (he's working on his quiz show at the moment ).The time just flew by and before I knew it two o'clock had come and gone .
Danny went off to meet his lovely girlfriend Chloe and by the time I had made some late lunch half the day had gone.
I came up to tidy up my essay and to try and squeeze a few more line into it and have now hopefully got it all done.So looking at the clock I think the housework can go whistle Dixie and I am goning to put my feet up and do some knitting instead. There's always tomorrow, I can't get motivated this time of the day I am definitely more of a morning person. Still it was lovely just sitting gassing to Danny,he's such a nice lad, and always makes time to see both of his Granny's if he can. So very little housework done and the washing will have to wait until Wednesday when my new machine arrives.
Hope everyone is haveing a good day,its pretty chilly here in kent and we're suppose to get a sprinkle of snow at some point today.Hope it doesn't last very long I hate the stuff.Onwards and upwards though ,it is getting a little lighter every evening which is good .
    Take care all

    Afternoon All

Been a gorgeous day here today, so been taking full advantage of it.:j:j

Ol' Style MSE! Group on FB was set up ages ago for when the forum was having problems. Spoke with the person who started it, and she has now opened it up and made me an "Officer" whatever it means, but it is somewhere if we belong to it we can find each other. Another request is to put your MSE name in your profile so that if someone looks at Info they can remember who you are, not that anyone can forget me I am sure:D

Hope Mum and Baby are doing well by now HH, still need to read the thread for today. (((hugs))) where needed. tonight we are going to our Dutch neighbours to play cards.

    Take care all DG

We have had snow today:( Just a little, but even that is too much:(:(
JackieO I think it is so much more important to give time to friends & family:), although that might be the reason for the state of my house:( Enjoy the :)grandsons:) that's what I say, Silver x

lil-me the recipe is a great favourite here. You can change the seeds if anyone is sensitive to any of the ingredients x

A most glorious day here today, slightly spoiled by an unsolicited call as I was rushing out the door to get the bus. I'm registered with the telephone preference service so snapped at the person at the other end. ('Can I speak to ..' ' NO. I'M ON MY WAY OUT OF THE DOOR. I HAVEN'T AUTHORISED THIS CALL') :o

That's not like me, but karma duly struck as the cowing bus didn't turn up and when one did, I had to haul a heavy four wheeled trolley on and off via steps.:(

But I got things I liked and needed including lovely bedding for my new bed at a quarter of the RRP. I also donated a shedload of clutter to the Sally Army (that's why the trolley was heavy going out.)

I'm nicely pampered thanks to Pink Rose Candle Philosophy (see my signature) and thinking about what store cupboard meals I can put together over the weekend. Gotta do something as the freezer is chocka.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j
  • Halight hope the twins feel better soon and that you haven't
    caught it too.

Hester hope your daughter is having an easy labour, looking forward to hearing the baby news.

Redruby hope your dad is feeling brighter today.

Went to the supermarket today, now I know why I normally shop on-line  the place was heaving and DH kept asking me every 2 seconds "what do we need?" I know he was trying to help but it just kept distracting me, much easier to sit at the computer in peace and quiet and do the order.

I did find some stardrops though so I will give it a try, you really can use it for everything can't you?

DD is a bit brighter today, she's going to a 21st party tonight so she should have a good time :D

Dinner tonight is cheese burgers and home made chips, not very healthy but it is a rare treat.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far

    hugs xx
  • Evening all

Very busy 24 hours for me!

Went out straight from work (4pm) for my colleagues leaving do. had meal in pub and then ended up in a bar/club with live music then we danced the night away. Got back to mine bout 3am! My colleague stayed over so we had a chilled out morning and breakfast before I dropped her back to her car.

This afternoon I met my friends for a lovely meal out to celebrate 2 of them getting engaged (to each other!!). We dressed up and went to a posh restaurant. I stuck to water as was still feeling fragile from night before. The restaurant does a set lunch for £9.50 for 2 courses. Sadly the veggie option in it was baked aubergine, but I hate aubergine :( however when I ordered stuffed peppers from the main menu the lovely man said I could have them as the set menu :D I had salad to start and 2 huge stuffed peppers filled with veg and tomato sauce, topped with cheese - yum!! I did share a desert too! Such a lovely afternoon.

Also called at my parents on way home, got 3 trashy mags in post so that's my evening sorted :D.

OS wise - DW went ont his morning, WM on now. Will have to rummage for tea as still not been food shopping - a week overdue now :o :rotfl:

    Have a fab evening all
