I'm amazed by all you money savers who manage to do this in budget every month. I can never seem to do it, especially now everything has shot up. I've told my family they all have to cut down on what they eat as I can't afford to keep buying food the way the prices are!

Mr S sent me a voucher today - 80 Nectar points if I spend £20.

Before I would have used this - no quibbles, and would have bought extra to get those points. But 80 points = 40p!!!

So they think it's a reward to get 40p off for spending £20. What an insult hey? :rotfl:

  • Sorry to hear your sad news Helen - best wishes.

Can you please put me down for £100 for feb? I still have rediculously overstocked cupboards so should only need fruit, veg, milk & flour but I have a sneaky feeling I'll go over :rotfl:
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

  • Dear Helen,

I'm pretty new to MSE so haven't spoken to you yet, but I just want to send my condolonces to you & your family at this hard time :(:grouphug:

On the subject of my budget this week I have spent £47 on my shopping :j the other day when it arrived it was £57 (still under budget) but i emailed the superstore and complained because a voucher code hadn't worked (which was a tenner off) -usually i would have just left it and thought oh well, but determined to stay in budget I did something pro-active- completely unlike me lol :D and i have been batch cooking this week to try and reduce next weeks shop even more as i have 3 cooked dinners in the freezer already :T ooooh all this saving money is ALMOST as exciting as spending

HELEN - just wanted to say I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear dad. I hope that your memories of happier times sustain you through the dark days ahead.
I have lit a candle for you and will add you to my prayers tonight.

You are absoluetly right in taking some time out and spending time with those who are mourning him like yourself. Remember though to look after yourself as well. xxx
