Helen - so sorry to hear about this terrible news...Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
Grocery Challenge 13 -spent £1453.06
Grocery Challenge 12 -spent £1565.510 -
Hi all
Done an inventory of my fridge and freezer today as usual and then done my cupboards too. OMG we have soooo much stuff! Determined to have a go at using stuff up (done pretty good with freezer in Jan). I tend to be so easily tempted by a bargain ... and we have an overspill cupboard upstairs for when I go mad or get an approved food order!
Anyway, been to sainsburys tonight and spent 32.04. I spent a bit short of £4 in Birds the other day so will guesstimate £36 spent so far in Feb.
Had a very productive day baking. Made apple and blackberry (from freezer) crumble, cheese scones, potato and onion pie (using pastry bought last week on offer), choc cake, choc chip cookies and a few jam tarts - without needing to buy anything.
Only 2 eggs left so will get some of those in the week for £1. Will get bread tomorrow x 3 which will be £3. Need to get icing suger and self raising flour next week.
Have ordered a veg box for about £18 for next thurs.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -

Just wanted to say that I probably won't be on here much for the rest of the month as sadly my Dad passed away last night. He had been very ill in hospital but it has still come as a huge shock. I'm determined to keep a rough eye on what is being spent but to be honest I'm really not bothered if we spend too much this month. I hope you all keep on track with your NSD's and your budgets and remember

Helen - So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you at this sad time x
DH birthday tomorrow so we have decided to go for a happy hour/early tea pizza tonight with DS. DH will have a glass of wine as I have offered to drive home so I will order tap water not the expensive fizzy stuff he does when its his turn to drive;)
No shopping needed for me until next week when I will need bananas and formula. Would love to be able to miss a weeks £60 shop. I think it is do-able, I will need fruit and a couple of bits of fresh veg for the meal plan but that is it. I may try a veg shop for this so I avoid the temptations of the sm until the 18th.
Must do some baking today as there is only a bit of ginger cake left. Don't need t make a cake for DH, just some bits for lunches. Millies cookies, sunshine scones and some christmas buns to use up an opened jar of mincemeat should do the trick.
Does anyone know if cooking buns in muffin cases so they are twice the size will work? What kind of temp and time do you think I would need to cook them for? ThanksSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
