New total £252.04/£300 but not declaring for February yet.

Still have the weekly shop to do on Saturday or Sunday which will come out of this budget, though it should be smallish so I'm hoping I could still come in under budget.

Had to nip to L**l yesterday for a few bits of veg as we were nearly totally out. Forgot my list but only spent £3.23 which i thought was ok, then realised when got home I hadn't got half the stuff I needed so nipped to Mr T on way home - again without a list and this time spent £10.30.

Shopping without a list again is definitely an issue for me. I've started considering what next month's target will be, but not decided yet, think I should be able to get it lower without too much trouble, but not sure my head is there with me at the moment.
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

    Hi All,

NickJW I also have a coop card and recommend getting it if you're going to use the store.

Helen jelly, thank you so much for the apple cake recipe. :T I had to amend it as didn't have cinnamon but did have mixed spice, didn't have sunflower oil so used stork and didn't have the food processor out so did it by hand and just changed the order around a bit. I guessed the important bit was sugaring and spicing the apples before adding to the cake mix. DGD1 thoroughly enjoyed cutting up the apples and mixing them in the sugar/spice mix. It's now cooked, looks and smells delicious and I'm really looking forward to a piece once she and I have had our tea. Thank you so much. :A

Finally got around to updating the siggy which I forgot to do on Tuesday. We've been to the butchers today and have some veg and a bit of fruit here. The rugby is on tomorrow so probably won't go out then so NSD again there. Up to 18 now and hope to get one or even two more in.

MrT sent me a £10 off online shop today, so I'll be doing an order sometime over the weekend as I also have £12.50 in vouchers. Depending on what the total comes out as I may include it in Feb so I won't declare yet. My month formally ends on Monday with March starting Tuesday on St David's Day.

Please would you put Spiggle down for £240 again for March Mrs McCawber? :A

If we keep coming this much under budget, I may start to include the wild bird food that I buy in the budget. I'm thinking a bit like I did with the cat food where I didn't include it to start with but as 'our' spends came down I stuck with the same total but brought the specialist i.e. expensive, food into the equation. At the moment the bird food is separately budgetted and accounted for but I'll have a think about this.

Someone asked about including alcohol in the gc budget. We don't include it unless it's for visitors to drink. If it's for me or OH we have to buy it out of our £15 each per week pocket money. ;)

Gotta run my omelette is ready. :D

    Take care all,
    Spigs

bertiebots I'm paying 68p for 1kg of Sugar at the mo
Billyjo Sorry to hear your Mums been poorly hun - I hope she's on the mend now
Mothership I'm so pleased to read that DD is opening up to you :)

Helenjelly Love the sound of your Apple Cake
I can't wait to get my cooker sorted. At the moment it regulates at 20C less than it states on the dial, but increasing the dial by 20 degrees doesn't seem to make it the right temperature which makes cooking or baking very hit and miss at the mo, but someone is coming to look at it on Tuesday, so hopefully they can fix it. LED display is flickering constantly too, like it's about to shorten out, so I hope that is is fixable. It's only just over 3 years old fgs!
Major bonus in baking today. I LOVE twinks, and I also made the cheesy biscs, man they're lush!
Which Cheesy Biscuits are they PennyGrabber? I love cheese flavoured things.

WOW! Sistercas £40.52 under budget! That's an amazing achievement :T
eveie189 Well done to you too hun :T and also prophecy_grrl and even philsmum ;) Under budget, is under budget :T

I spent another £1 today, so my current spends are £240.44 leaving me £9.56 up to and including Monday, so I'm hanging in there by the skin of me teeth :D

And to all those who have tried, and not quite made it, well done on saving the money that you wouldn't have saved had you not been trying :T

I was feeling a bit lonely the other day. DD was with her dad for most of the half term week and he was treating her to all kinds of things. Great for her of course but it's something I just can't do anymore. Feeling sorry for myself, I then treated myself to some wine and chocolate:o. Not good. Tasty though and I don't feel too terrible about it as I have been doing quite well this month. I got paid today so I am declaring February at £105.69 (including the wine and choccies:D) so I did ok after all.

Can I pledge £100 for March. Only a 4 week month for me this one and I should be able to do it.

Spent £2.30 on a tomato (yes 1!), grapes and raspberries from the greengrocers.

Writing a new meal plan (based around SW) and shopping list for tomorrow - hoping to stick to about £40ish but prices are so high lately that I'm not confident:(

Mrs M - could you put me down for £45 a week please?
    Thank you!
