My month ends on Monday 28th so I need to try really hard not to spend £30ish in the next 4 days!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Katholicos - I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time :grouphug:
I am off to update my sig now, well over this month, however, on the plus side I have still spent a lot less than I would usually. I think it has given me a better feel for where I am overspending and I am in a better routine with shopping and meal planning now so hopefully next month will go more smoothly.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Hello all,
I'm going for £260.00 for this month, came in at about £266.00 last month, so here goes.....
Previous Total £221.58
Tesco £34.04
Co-op £11.93
Total for Month £267.55
:T :T :T Pretty pleased with that.
I've noticed from this Tesco receipt that I might be trying Aldi for their fruit and veg on super 6.
Cost of 4 clementines and 4 apples at Tesco £2.19  and no the apples were not pink lady0 -
Hi everyone,
I am declaring £305 spends for Feb so £45 over budget. Not great so hopefully March will be better.
I have increased march budget slightly as I've got a visitors coming to stay, a birthday and a few Easter gifts to get, ( got 3 of the big easter eggs from Asd* yesterday for £2 each, so part way there, shelf was nearly empty so a lot of other people obviously got them aswell).
Can you please put me down for £350 budget for March please. Already spent £110 of that, but stocked up on deal items, mainly for baby & cat food.
Also got a few whopsies, £4.50 Jerk Chicken & veg meal for two , reduced to £2.25 , pack of chicken breasts reduced to £3.05 and pack of bacon for 96p
You mentioned Cutiepieabf that you had some cheats and storage tips for menu planning, could you share a few ideas please?? I'm still in the process of doing my menu plan but getting in the habit of making extra and freezing it , something I should do more often. I have done it on occasion but not often enough. I have a couple of plastic storage boxes, suitable for freezing, but maybe investing in some foil tins would be a good idea, then I can put them straight in the oven.
Also going to make up extra baby food and freeze that, and try not to rely on the jars so much.

I am declaring FEB at a little over budget at £312.45
March budget now set at £280
I am absolutely determined to get this figure down some more yet , I still think this is way too much to be spending on food for 2 (albeit greedy) adults and 1 cat (also greedy).
At least hubby has conceded defeat on the high protein , low carb diet - it isn't working and its very expensive .
So now we are 'allowed' to eat pulses again and less meat and more veg (which is always reduced in my local wait**se or on offer in al*i :T so hopefully lower food shopping billsStarted my own business and loving being my own boss

Sorry for your loss, Katholicos.
I have spent around £15 more, I will update shortly.
Also, if anyone with a cat lives around Manchester, somebody in Freecycle was offering 11 tins of Felix because her cat did not like them: http://groups.freecycle.org/CityofManchesterUKFreecycle/posts/9217377 I think you have to register and log in to see and reply to ads, but it's free, quick, no spam and easy.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Afternoon all
Quick update on the spends, spent £59.94 in MrL this morning, so have overspent again but have bought several bigger packs of different items all the way through the month, to try to stock up a bit and because in the long term it worked out cheaper. Am quite hopeful that I don't need to spend any more money, as my GC month does not end until Thursday, will have to wait and see, but have menu planned so should be ok!?
Have a good weekend everyone, stay safe and well.

Right I haven't been keeping up with the thread very well, and now on a terrible slow train wireless connection, so will go back and read another time.
((hugs)) to those who need them, as I see there are a few of you.
I am declaring at £88.81/£70 for February, and I would like to plenge £90 for March. I think the £70 is a bit optomistic for me a the moment (long term goal maybe) and I know my freezer is pretty light right now, so will need some restocking!
