On a last note with this thread, I have been fortunate enough to have a good relationship with my children, please DO NOT call my child a liar/cheat when you do not even know him.
trying to miss out the harsh comments some people have put i just wish the make a point on this
if he has a permanent ban with this then it is almost certain he is a cheat - they do not permanently ban people for no reason and although they will occasionally make a mistake, the % of people who are incorrectly banned is usually lower than 0.1% going on the figures that occasionally come out - so we are talking about a very very small amount of people
and as to him being a liar, well this means he is either one of the few people who have been incorrectly banned, or he is innocent enough to not realise hacking your system would be classed as cheating (if so why is he playing Black ops?), or he is a liar
those really are the options you are playing with, and i know that its hard to accept a child cheating and then lying about it, but in this case the chances are that is exactly what has happenedDrop a brand challenge

Saw that loads of times when I was with NTL/VM.Parent rings up as the computer is running funny so naturally,it's the ISP's fault so they send me out to fix it..Find the's a trojan or a virus on the PC,Little darlings have been on !!!!!! sites,because the kids have their own accounts on the PC,Mummy dearest doesn't see what darling child is looking at...0 -

Not directly related but this cropped up recently

The child did cheat and the mum went as far as saying Microsoft was picking on her autistic child on TV to try and get him unbanned.
Fast forward a few days and it emerges he did cheat by giving his gamertag and password to some else who then unlocked online achievements in the wrong order whilst the console was offline. Only then did the mum come clean, and I 'd suspect that she didn;'t know the truth to start with.
The poiunt is MS in this case could say EXACTLY why he was banned, and did so, no doubt Sony can do the same in this case.0 -
your son would be able to play online just not in a anti cheat server. unless he's hacked his ps3 in wich case its useless, you could try a new hardrive in it but that not a garentee itll unlock it. his only alternative if he's just banned from the game is to buy a new game but why should you? your just condoning him cheating as little angel horns who cant do no wrong mummy will buy another for him and so on and son on.
he may not be legal age to buy it but not illegal to play it.0 -
Anyone got an old IBM 370 VM server where I can finish my game of Hunt the Wumpus, I promise I haven't been banned on any other servers, it's just my old server was scrapped before I finished. I smell a wumpus. OP (Tinker15... ) let us know If you can find out why he was banned, bet the answer will not please you. I also play Black Ops (xbox 360) and users have been complaining they have been banned for no reason as well.
Is it possible he connected to a 'boosting lobby' by mistake (where someone is hosting a hacked game in order to get increased points)
Anyway, if you are convinced the ban is through no fault of his own, my first point of contact wouldbe with the game makers (Treyarch) themselves. They are the only ones who will be able to tell you exactly why he has been banned and if there is any chance of you getting it overturned.
If he's innocent then I hope they reverse it for you. If he has cheated then he deserves the ban.

Having read the whole thread and the bashing OP has received about her son being a lying cheat, I can confirm the above has happened to my son.
He plays on X-Box and after the last update he couldn't log onto the COD server with his gamertag, he got a messgage saying his GT was not allowed access to the online server. He didn't tell me for 2 weeks because he thought he'd been banned temporarily for swearing, when his tag wasn't reinstated after the 2 weeks he told me what had happened we phoned MS to be told the update had corrupted his gamertag account and he wasn't banned at all. It took 6 weeks for them to repair, they gave him a year of live gold as compo.
Point is, if I'd have come here for advice he would have been called a cheat and liar too. Good job we did the sensible thing and contacted MS instead.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
