1) Is he playing on PC, Xbox or PS3?
2) What is the actual message telling him he is banned?
3) Is it only from one server or the entire game?
I'm completely jumping the gun here, but you only get locked out of the full game by hacking and cheating. A Steam/Console ban for hacking is not reversable and 99% of the time it is not done by mistake.0 -

Chances are hes been banned for a few days and will have all stats reset
Unless hes been a VERY bad boy in which case hes not getting back on:idea:0 -

His console has been blacklisted because he has been caught using cheats and/or jailbroken his console.
it is an ABSOLUTE PERMANENT BAN on the console and cannot be overturned. The only way to play Black Ops again is to buy another PS3. Creating another user account on that console will not get him back on Black Ops.
There is no way to "accidentally" do this.
Serves the cheating get right.0 -

Banned by Sony after the 3.56 security update along with many other cheating hacking gets going on the amount of people posting on the official CoD: BLOPS PS3 forum.
In short he has either run Jailbreak firmware, modified game save files or other hacks in Black Ops.
Not one of them is getting any sympathy on the forums (amazing how many claim it was a friend or brother) and unless they fork out for a new console, not one of them is playing BLOPS anytime soon.0 -
You'll need to buy a new console. Tell your son not to cheat this time. No sympathy, people like him ruin online gaming with their cheat patches.

Why did you assume he was playing PS3?

Why did you assume he was playing PS3?
Because Sony/Activision have taken action against COD Black Ops cheats with the 3.56 update that came out yesterday.
CoD: Black Ops Hackers Hit with PS3 Firmware 3.56 Ban Hammer
I hope they do the same for Modern Warfare 2 as well.
Best part is going onto the CallofDuty.com PS3 BLOPS forums, reading all the whiner posts and the well deserved vitriol they get in response.0 -

He is playing on a PS3 and to my knowledge he has done nothing to get this ban. I have asked him if he has cheated etc and he tells me that he hasn't which I believe because although far from perfect he is an honest child.
He does get stressed out sometimes when someone beats him but he did that with the previous COD game.
I think some of your comments are a bit harsh when I only asked advice on something I know little about. I wouldn't expect to get banned playing Bejeweled so was surprised to hear this has happened.Comping from May 2012
