If he has been abusive to other players then he could have been issued with a temporary ban. I only say this because you mentioned he gets "stressed", no offence intended.

Im going to assume that hes not capable of firmware hacking etc so id guess he had a 'modified gamesave' which treyarch (the creators) have now banned as it was cheating
If this is true I have no sympathy, I play the game and I detest cheaters/hackers

I don't play CoD or any other FPS games on my PS3 so don't know what messages would be coming up when the ban is active. Is there any messages displayed? what do they say?

There's been a flood of CoD players banned over the last 24 hours following the firmware update, all for cheating with modified files. It's very unlikely that the OP's son has coincidentally been banned for using bad language or any other reason.
He's a cheater, and now lying to his mum too. Very bad boy. Send him to bed with no dinner.

He does get stressed out sometimes when someone beats him but he did that with the previous COD game.

I think some of your comments are a bit harsh when I only asked advice on something I know little about. I wouldn't expect to get banned playing Bejeweled so was surprised to hear this has happened.

i do not think what the posters have said is harsh,
cheat get banned end off ,looks like it will cost mum and dad some money for new hardware ,:T

and yes i run a few game server's too for pc's,its nice to see poeple are getting banned for cheating ,as they would on my server's
