Banned from Black Ops - Help!

there was an incident with COD modern warfare 2 in by wich 12.000 people had bans through no fault. took activision 12months to re distribute accounts. that was a firmware fault.

but that only happens once in a blue moon and i dont think activision/tryarch would make that mistake again.

its a hefty price to pay CHEATING or HACKING or BOOSTING.

youngsters believe they are untouchable when it comes to games, so when they get OWNED they get frustrated, seek out a "undetected cheat" from youtube or cheat sites and believe they will not get found out.
trouble is with the theatre mode of black ops you can easily check out someone is cheating by going into theatre my recent game and look at all the players from their perspectave, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to find out someone has a cheat because 1. their score 200 kills -5 deaths is way too high, 2. the guns bouces back and forth to players too quick for the eye to correspond and shoot through walls with no spy plane up.

so as soon as one spots this in their server they go to report player.

treyarch usually let the cheats run for a few weeks, they know that a cheat is bouncing round so will develop an update for it to be detected, release an update and bang 2000 people banned in one night, the rest when they load up the console. game sub clean for a week or two untill cheat developers take appart the update and tweak their cheat to bypass it.

there are many things you can be banned for, cheating being the biggy, but boosting XP stats also is bannable not just a reset for account.

you son hasnt told you the trueth at all. you have a pc! check the sites he's been on because to run a cheat for ps3 xbox etc he would have got it from the net saved to pen drive and then installed it from there to the ps3. check you pen drive for a short cut.

perhaps that is why it is right that it is supposed to be an 18, because you have to be mature enough to realize that you probably won't be top all the time and you will find many gamers that are vastly better than you will likely ever be, and to realize that it is only a game at the end of the day !!!!!!

I have glazed over the replies & would just like to say that if my orginal post was read again you will see that I am not promoting cheats, far be it as I cannot stand playing with cheats myself. This is includes Monopoly etc. As far as I am concerned I have asked a genuine question becasuse I know zero about online gaming or just using the PS3 at all.
My "little angel" has horns but I have been a parent long enough to see through any mister meaners & they know that I will always try to get to the root of an issue. I come from a large family so know quite a few of the tricks that kids think are new and clever. I am also not the type of parent to just pay up for another console, I too work hard for what we have and have no intention of throwing it away.
The age thing, well I have yet to meet a parent who has managed to keep their children away from films, games, pubs before the recommended age. Well done to any who have managed this with their children.

Please dont take these posts the wrong way. Your sons cheated (or almost certainly has) and so clearly lied to you (or he genuinely didnt realise that cheating would get him banned)
No one here cares he lied to you. What we (the gamers that play the game) do NOT like are cheaters. The game at full price is 50 quid (or was it 55?). The main crux of the game being multiplayer. I dont want to spend any money on any game for it to be made unfair because of cheats. Thats all anyones saying here. He SHOULD be banned because hes made it unfair for the rest of us.
And im not singling your son out. There are thousands of cheaters online that spoil it for the rest of us. I personally want them ALL banned.
