Emailed them also, within ten mins they had called me up, with refund and credit for the lit cover.
Superb service, and thanks op!2 angels in heaven :A0 -
This is exactly happened to me but when I e-mailed them they offered to replace my Kindle! (don't want to because of all the hassle/books stored on it etc).
There was a number to call if I wasn't happy with the response so I may call them & see if I can get the new cover as I am a bit worried about if it will start to freeze been left in the cover.
I would call them - it's a freephone number. They were really nice on the phone about it and just gave us a £30 refund and then a £20 credit (not sure of the exact amounts.) They won't want you to return your kindle, I worried about that too so rang them.0 -
after emailing them they asked me to contact them as well on a free-phone number, I did so and after explaining that the kindle froze up a couple of times they refunded the £30 and give me a £20 voucher to upgrade to the lighted one, very easy to do, and told to keep the cover
thanks for the info

Hi I have just called now after the advice above (when I e-mailed they just offered to replace the Kindle which i didn't want) & I had to answer a few questions about the couple of times it had frozen but I stressed I was more worried about it long term been left in the case if it keeps happening.
Full refund & credit given. Very good customer service.

If it's an official Amazon Kindle case, then yes, you need to contact them, although there is no issue with the battery as far as I'm aware.
Glad so many people have benefited from this0 -
Amazon changed the manufacturer of their covers and the new manufacturer uses a different type of leather for the case which is causing the problems.0

Amazon told me that greatly shortened battery life was a feature of the known problem. They also say the case has not been withdrawn, it is merely out of stock.0 -

What did they say to you? I have have just got an email not mentioning a refund but just saying to phone up and they will try to troubleshoot it. It doesn't freeze all the time just intermittently so how can they troubleshoot it?Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.
