you only have to pay for the service charges, depending on the site you go to the club passes are often not worthwhile getting in advance unless its somewhere like rockly park who will charge you double on the day. Linen is optional as well, I bring my own and often you get passes in welcome pack too.

Yeah I know. We got Trecco bay on a Monday - Friday, and according to the sun website, it charges £6.50 per night per caravan. We have two, so that's already an extra £52 on top of the £133 we already paid for 14 of us. Then it charges £6.95 for clubroom passes. That's another £97.30. I will only pay for the passes so I can take the kids in. Same as my sister and brother for their children. My two girls loved the parkdean entertainment nights (we went to pendine sands last year - not with the sun) so I've promised them they can go to them again. Fingers crossed we do get them for free. But I'm not holding hope. Still haven't received the paper confirmation yet. Anyone know when this should show up?

I've just had my paper confirmation.

Bear in mind, I paid £133 for two caravans with 7 people in each.
    There are 8 adults, 2 children (8 & over) and 2 x 2year olds and 2 babies (1 & 5 months approx- not born yet lol)

So, two paper confirmations, one for each caravan. Both asking me to pay an extra £86.25 for each caravan  So another £172.50 in total, which will make the total cost to £305.50. Been charged £26.00 service charge on both, £47.25 passes, and £13 bed linen. Times by 2 as it is for each caravan.

Just looked on the parkdean website, for the same week, and a 6-8 caravan, which is what we would need, it's only £135 with free passes, linen and service charge. I am absolutely gutted that I could have had exactly the same holiday for cheaper. Ok, so it is only £30 odd cheaper, but surely that's not the point?!? I don't think I will be using it again next year :(

EDIT: According to the back of the confirmation, we have to have a minimum of four passes purchased for each caravan.

Didn't you read in the terms and conditions about what additional items you would be charged for before you booked?

Of course I did! I'm not stupid. But, as I said, it was my very last option. And the fact that the exact same holiday on the parkdean website is cheaper is wrong. They advertise these sun holidays as a cheap alternative when it's not! So now our "£9.50" holiday has turned out to be more like £20.

My point is, why is the same holiday cheaper on the website than through the sun???

To be honest if you were aware of the additions beforehand and didn't want to pay them you shouldn't have put it as an option at all.
A lot of the time these holiday offers will only save you money if you are going in the school holidays.

we can only go in the school holidays as husband is a teacher, so the sun deals are great for us, work out so much cheaper, we normally book two or three each year.
  • OPTION TO EXTEND HOLIDAY ANYONE??

I had my confirmation for April (Haven) 2 weeks ago and it wouldnt let me pay online for some reason?? Phoned them to pay and the guy was SO rude a bit like "oh youre a Sun holiday customer!" I asked if there was an option to extend the holiday to 7 nights as I have had in the past and was told "no way could they do that"! How helpful!!!!

Has anyone had the option to pay extra to extend their stay to 7 nights? I have always received a mailing in the past - or maybe that was just for Butlins.

Nope didn't get an option to extend with our Haven holiday either. Got it with the parkdean holiday tho, and with Park holidays for the last two yr we've been given the option of extending. So perhaps Haven just don't allow it??
