MealPlans WB 31 January

Options
Having been naughty and started the thread too early last week (sorry!), I've behaved and waited for Thursday!

I'm trying (again) to add more new recipes into my plan and keep cooking for leftovers and the freezer.

This week we're having:

Thursday - Leftover carrot and coriander soup with bread - going to make up pizza dough tonight
Friday - pizza (new for me! Never even attempted, so fingers crossed)
Saturday - Moroccan spiced aubergine with salad, which was a new one for last week and is ridiculously delicious. We need to have it again before the yoghurt I serve it with goes off
Sunday – chickpea curry (new recipe) with rice or store bought naan
Monday – out at charity comedy night
Tuesday – Mushroom risotto
Wednesday – leftover curry with rice or naan

Breakfasts are supermarket brand cereal and lunches are leftovers.

4th week of having Vegetarian 2 days a week and we're getting used to it... I actually find myself looking forward to them and the Fish more then meat heavy dishes now... which is great for the purse!

My son is away this weekend, so I have to bake [STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 1 week[STRIKE]s[/STRIKE] of lunch goodies. I also want to bake Weezls bread (4 loaves). [STRIKE]I might even bake Twinks Hob Nobs too[/STRIKE] :D

Oh and as I got a good offer on some nice Free Range Eggs, [STRIKE]I am going to make Scotch Eggs too [/STRIKE]:D

Edit: Didn't do as well this weekend as i'd hoped I would... but we ended up not needing Scotch Eggs for lunch Sunday as we had fresh HM Bread.

Will have to try and make Twinks Hob Nobs soon though!

Edit: Tuesday - OH took Bread Dough out of the Freezer instead of Pizza Dough... so the whole week got re-arranged... this is my worst week of meal planning gone wrong in a VERY long time!

Ohhhhh... please share, I have cheeks in the freezer and i'm waiting for inspiration!

hang on i posted it on here before ill go find it

tra la la I have found it

    2 lbs pork cheek
    1 medium onion chopped
    1 stalk celery chopped
    3 cloves garlic minced
1/2 Cup white wine (Grenache Blanc)
    1 Cup chopped canned tomatoes
    5 sprigs fresh thyme
    1/2 tsp marjoram
    1 bay leaf

season the pork cheeks. In a frying pan add the pork, fat side down and fry until browned. Flip, then brown the other side. You may have to do this in 2 batches. Build the brown fond on the bottom of the pan upto a nice thick layer without burning it, this is for the sauce

Turn down the heat and put the pork on a plate and add the onions, celery and garlic to the pan. Use the vegetables to scrape the brown fond off the bottom of the pan and fry until soft and fragrant. put the wine in the pan turning up the heat and boiling until the mixture is a thick consistency.

Add the tomatoes, thyme, marjoram and bay leaf stirring to combine. Return the pork with any juices back into the pot. Submerge the meat in the sauce, turn the heat down to low and partially cover with a lid. Simmer for 2-3 hours or until the cheeks come apart easily with a fork.

Skim off any excess fat with a spoon then remove the pork from the sauce and roughly chop or pull apart the meat then return it to the sauce.
    :D
