    The waterpark only has 3 slides, much better place is WetnWild in North Shields.

    Regular moneysavers who are off on the cruise to Bergen visit WetnWild at the same time as its next to the Ferry Terminal!

    There are two hotels Splash and Alton Towers. The swimming pool and Waterpark are the same thing. As posted previous the prices are different depending on pre booking or not.

    Waterpark = £12 per person
    Spa = £18.50 per person
    Pool = £0 per person

    Waterpark is highly recommended.

    I don't know why people are complaining about the cost of other extras, come on, ROOMS FOR £10!!!
    You could have a room to sleep a family and take 3 friends to work out as £2.50 per person for the room!!!
    Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000
    Mortgage free: When i'm 39 / Sept 2023

  • I've stayed there before and we loved it. It's only £10 for crying out loud! I don't know what people expect!

    If you go onto lastminute.com and search for alton towers, there are breaks which include dinner bed and breakfast and water park entry. I doubt it would work out cheaper but worth considering.

    The pool in the hotel is nice but quite small. Adequate if on a romantic weekend away, kids would get bored.

    Thanks for that 306notout.

    So to answer my very last question(i promise), Is it obvious when staying at the Alton Towers hotel that all these facilities are there. I would be using it more as a base to visit family but as you can imagine if there obvious signs of a waterpark the kids will nag and as much as i would love to treat them we really don't have the cash at the moment.

    No probs at all...

    There will be signs everywhere for Cariba Creek which is what the Water park is called. If you tell them it is closed you will be fine as when you are stopping in the AT hotel and you cannot see the waterpark from the AT hotel.

    Sorry about the swimming pool thing I never found that when we went, but someone above has posted there is one there.
    We took on Mr T and we won:D

    Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:

    Thanks OP a great offer, I booked for next weekend, nice break with OH and kids.

    Then read James' post and gasped - the only reason to go to this hotel is for the waterpark and you can't wear clothes next weekend!!!!!!!!

    Tried to cancel and was told there is a £20 cancellation fee, I said they had misrepresented the advert and they waived the fee.

    Still think it's a bargain for another weekend as long as I can wear a cossie.

    Great just booked 6 rooms for a family reunion beginning of december, kids very excited to be seeing there cousins. Thank you

    We've been before and just to warn people the restaurants are very kayotic and expensive, particularly the drinks, it would be much nicer to go to one of the local pubs nearby for a meal, there are quite a few, that what we will be doing anyway.

    Hello thespacecowboy,

    is the small pool in the hotel that you mention part of the £18 spa or is this just an independant pool which we could use for free as part of the deal?

    Thanks

    How do you pre book tickets for the water park I can't find any way of doing this on either the last minute web site or alton towers web site, I'm probably being thick !!!

    Thanks
