Hi,
thanks for this tip. We were looking for a cheap room in that area to visit family. Can someone tell me if there is an indoor pool as well as a waterpark? If so is the swimming pool free, otherwise how much is a family ticket(2&2). It would be a shame to stay here and not be able to let the kids go swimming but we are on a tight budget. If we were to stay at the hotel would it be obvious to the kids that there was a pool ect or is it away from the main hotel?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure you buget for dinner - £18 a head!
And a drink is around £3.
Also the rooms are tiny! We didn't enjoy our stay0 -
Gutted, was just about to book thinking it would be worth it but if the water parks are extra then there is food and drink, might as well stay at home as there isn't much else you can see / do around there....

the hotel is called splash landings, its a theme hotel, and yes you only have to stand in reception and theres a dirty great window looking down onto a lagoon type of beached fun pool, its huge and you certainly wouldnt miss it...
take a look at their website.
having said that- it is a great day out for the kids.0 -
The hotel being offered by lastminute.com is the Alton Towers hotel, not the splash landings thats attached to the waterpark0

I know that this is a money saving site but surely you have to draw the line at whinging about paying normal hotel prices for breakfast, dinner and drinks - it is a 4 Star hotel after all.
You can't get a Little Chef breakfast for much less than £10.95 anyway - and driving for 15 minutes seems a little petty.
I can't wait - and neither can my two colleagues who have also booked at a fantastic £9.99 each! I love saving money - but I am not tight!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I just booked Friday the 17th for £9.99
BARGAIN!
BUT..
Phoned up to book the waterpark, got told it was £12 each, but thought as we wanted to go there sometime early next year, do it now instead. Got told the pool is closed for the 17th and 18th as it's NATURIST weekend and you are only allowed in if you are a member of the british naturist society.
So, booked for tomorrow night at £9.99 and booked the waterpark for Saturday no problems.
So have spent:
2 x £9.99 - 1 night 10th Nov and 1 night 17th Nov
2 x £12 - waterpark
TOTAL = £43.98
As I live in Coventry it's not too far to travel for a relaxing break on the naturist weekend, so I don't mind not using the pool. It might be worth a laugh going over there and viewing the pool. Apparantly the event is family friendy - wouldn't this thing just attract pedofiles?!Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000
Mortgage free: When i'm 39 / Sept 2023
Mortgage repayment = £588

James,
is the pool you are speaking of free to use?
People keep mentioning a pool, a waterpark and a spa. Excuse my ignorance but i have never been here before and would like to know if these facilitiels are seperate or one in the same.
Basically i just need to know what will be free to use and what will be payable and at what cost.

My mate works there which is how I got tipped off about this offer early.
There are two hotels Splash and Alton Towers. The swimming pool and Waterpark are the same thing. As posted previous the prices are different depending on pre booking or not.
The Spa is totally seperate and great if you want to send Dad in the waterpark with the kids while you go in the spa. £18 for a couple of hours I think.
You do not have to eat in the hotel as there is a nice pub in the village of Alton about 5 mins drive away, I think this is cheaper than the hotel prices. Breakfast is very good, massive buffet with loads on it. Eat as much as you want.
Entertainment is on most nights (def weekends). We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0
