Hi DFW
It sounds as though your little ones are keeping you busy, bless them. My DD is abit of a monkey for drawing on things that she shouldn't and she's 8! My 2 used to love washing up when they were small, not so keen on it now though.
Wow you're super organised by getting Christmas sorted out by now, I might think about it at the end of November! I've bought a few stocking fillers and will buy anything that catches my eye but they'll probably change their minds several times by then so its not worth it for me to do it yet.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you getting new tenants xxx0 -
Afternoon Diaryland
Well Saturday was a NSD hubby took the kids to the zoo (free passes) and i stayed in and went through all the toys in the house (mental note to oneself: don't bother next time, kids mess it up in 5 mins!) Then sat night i went out :j:beer: got really drunk and stumbled home! I borrowed the money from a friend as banks accounts' are sparse at the minute to say the very least! Only £40 though and I spent £32 which i thought was really good considering all the drinks are £3+
Sunday i was a little hungover to say the least :rotfl:so tried to spend the entire day on the sofa. We took a little trip to argos to collect some catalogues and then let the kids spend the afternoon ripping/cutting/tearing/throwing bits of paper. They then made a list for Santa on what they wanted :rotfl: and we watched The Santa Clause. Then, of course my children would not stop going on about father christmas coming to visit. I tried to explain that he wouldn't be here till 24th Dec and they were having none of it!
So this morning bright & early DD was up asking if he had been  oh dear, i think started on the xmas films a little early lol :rotfl:
This morning after dropping DD off at nursery i went shopping and spent £70.47 on food  i did get an awful lot of fridge stuff & dishwasher tablets & salt but aside from that i'm not entirely sure where the money went!! Hopefully we will have enough to last a week and a bit -at least!! But I am still within my monthly spend for grocery so happy with that
Tomorrow should be a NSD too, need to get the garden sorted out (again!) ready for when the cold weather starts because i know for a fact once the rain and cold starts i won't be out there digging up weeds, putting toys in the garage and the BBQ away. I won't care!!
So off to start that now and hopefully get the house a little more in order too, although that is a never ending job with two toddlers so I won't stress over that one :rotfl:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. NSD #11 here for me
Have looked into a santa train ride for the kids and i think it will cost around £40 for an hours ride, present, and a drink for adults, so am debating whether or not to book. We've never been able to afford it before so i've never done anything like this but i think ds1 will enjoy it as much as the little uns so think it may be a go-er :T far better than a trip to the co-op huh(ok so it's double the price....)
Missed zumba class today, i've spent all afternoon on the sofa absolutely exhausted! Need to see dr next week anyway for a review so will bring it up then and see if i need my bloods checked again. ALso need to book my annual flu jab!
DH's sister is being a bit of a pain atm, we're going to her daughter's b-day party on sunday which we were happy to do (so long as we've petrol it's a fair old drive) and she sent us a menu for the pub set lunch that we were going to after. It was £20 (minimum) per person  so naturally dh said i'm sorry we can't afford it, but we'll come to the party then come to pub for a drink. Well we got a phone call an hour or so later from MIL and she was saying how upset SIL wasmade us feel super guilty, although mil confessed that she also was struggling to pay for it as was dh's other sister. So next day we all get a text saying it's cancelled now and not to worry she'll find an alternative. We both feel so guilty now and like we've ruined her plans.....but if we can't afford it what are we supposed to do? Lie, put it on the credit card (which we don't have anymore anyway!) So Sunday may be interesting and awkward
Staying in tomorrow as not really up for breakfast am just so energy-less i just don't feel up to mingling lol :rotfl: i am actually wondering if i have S.A.D i always get like this come the cold weather!!!
Ok must go anyway dd being a pest and not sleeping!
OOOh and also I am cancelling sky movies. Have decided if i want to watch a film i can use our huge collection of dvds! or blockbuster or a$da/te$co for cheap ones .....just need to find account number now lol and ring them!(it's on the to=do list!)
Have also sold 3 more things on ebay. Only for pennies literally but less clutter in my house so all good. Have winter suits/coats for kids to go on yet, may take pics and do that on next free listing weekend as i want more than 99p for them
really off now, dd tearing apart the argos catalogue!!!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I think it is quite brave to have owned up to not being able to afford the pub meal. As you said several others were in the same boat but too ashamed and scared to mention anything. So well done. It should be a case of enjoying the company rather than who can spend the most money, but i also understand some people just dont get it.
Well done on the NSD's your doing really well. Also great about the ebay sales. I am now up 2 £4.40 for the 4 items!Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thanks slm....pre MSE days we would have just kept schtum and put it on our credit card. BUT we don't have any credit cards now, or overdrafts or loans soooooooooo we had to come clean really. But i was glad we had to as it meant we don't feel guilty about spending the entire time we are there. The kids don't have to be the only ones sharing with their mum & dad and goodness knows how we would have paid for drinks on top of food & petrol to get there!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Thursday
Well missed brekkie this morning but had a friend round whilst the kids were at nursery anyway so ds2 had someone to play with (friend has 2 boys same age nearly as mine) So saved me the fiver i usually spend at breakfast so should be another NSD here
DH went to work at 4am  and won't be back till late so I'm going to feed kids beans on jacket potato for dinner and salad (nice'n'easy lol) and then pretty much go to bed at the same time as them :rotfl:
Need to check bank accounts but i think they are ok (in the black rather than the red....doesn't matter if only by pennies it's all about having the right colour) had a call and the new tenants have paid their bond and are undergoing 'thorough checks' i was quite worried when she said this about whether or not she got them by the house and strip searched them before letting them in :rotfl: but anyway so long as the checks come back ok, i should be looking at a big cheque soon
although out of that i have to pay management charges, full check with pics on the house to be done and some other little bits so not sure exactly how much i will get ...lets hope it is enough to pay the mortgage and be able to up my CCCS payments though (even if only for 6 months) anything to get rid of this debt quicker!
I've gotten out my box of sock monkey making stuff and have started on a few, must get my act together though if i actually want to finish any :rotfl:I have all the bits and pieces to make them apart from motivation anyone know where i can get someMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
