Hey abba where have you been! :p

Yes thank you i had a lovely day on saturday, had a nice relaxing bath, got my sewing machine out had an hour on there in peace (usually can't get it out as kids are all over it!!) then relaxed on the sofa with catch up t.v and 10 sock monkeys that needed stuffing :rotfl:

Yesterday was a lsd £3 on tolls on the way to nieces birthday party. Had a lovely day again. I got dh to pick up ds1 from school as it's near to where we went and he joined us for the whole day :) so was very happy as i was missing him so much this term :happyhear:kisses: so he went back to school with his new mobile phone (for his birthday in october) and some new p.j's and socks (random lol but what boys don't love socks :rotfl:) and he was covered in mummy cuddles and kisses so he was probably glad to escape ;)

However 5 mins after he was dropped off i had a tearful phone call from him.....there was me imagining my son has homesickness and wanted me to go pick him up but no, i had stupidly put the wrong sim in his new phone he therefore couldn't get online or show it off properly to his friends. Charming.

SO today's spends thus far, £2.60 first class package to ds1 school! (with sim- hopefully the right one now lol)

£10 on bits and bobs from local shop, including calpol. Poor little ones have had me up all night with temperature!!! so no nursery today, just a lazy day, regular doses of medicine and morning t.v!

dh's bonus was paid in today :T at !!!!!!!g last!

From that (£2,800) i have to ear mark £1k for paying back to dh work as it's not ours. £180 back into insurance savings (borrowed for something or other). £310 to school fee fund (again borrowed for something) and i have around £1100 in the emergency fund so this needs topping up asap.

My new 'prospective' tenants are due to look round my house today. fingers crossed please everyone that they like it! if they do that is 6 months rent in my pocket :T and i can then call cccs and try and up payments for next 6 months. or make a one off payment? whatever they would prefer as i'm not too bothered. If they don't like it it has to be put back on the market (as others that were interested were directed to other properties).....don't want to think about the bad side of things though. Fingers, toes, legs crossed they like it!

Have also transferred a 'float' of £100 to dh's account. this is for work trips away where he has to pay for b&b or dinners, he can claim it back usually but it takes a week or so, so i thought it best off that he has his own money out of the bonus for this. He also had £60 from it (which should have gone to emergency fund ) for his speeding fine :naughty: and another £25 that i owed him for his pocket money lol. So thats all the money out and seperated and my bank account is now looking as sparse as it was on friday :rotfl:

Payday is on friday though :T can't wait to see how much we have so i can sort out budget again!!

  • Just got a call from hubby, he's off to halfords to get lots of bits for the car, that are needed for servicing it. He's managed to talk a friend into servicing it for a few drinks , and we pay for parts :T this should save us at least £100, we were quoted by volvo £180+ for basic service  was not impressed!

And i sent him with my bank card to pay as i will get 4% cash back from quidco then :T so more money out of the emergency fund, but i guess this is what it was for :)

  • well i got the phone call i had been waiting for from my management agency....and the prospective tenant didn't even get as far as my house, before turning it down :( he found residence in the halls as some became available. drat! i get to keep one month's retainer which is one month's rent (minus fees) and they are putting it back up for rent. Hopefully we will get more interest now, otherwise it will be another christmas empty, and me paying for it out of dh's wages :( booooooooooo

Also dh spent £150 on the car rather than the £80-100 he promised it would cost ;( not impressed, he thinks the 'emergency fund' is there for the taking i think and he's not bothered about long term saving. need to work on this!!!!

He's also been taken off his new job (you know what they say about things coming in threes.....) not sure why but i think it's to do with the fact he hasn't done all the courses it apparantly takes to be a driver-of a car to the boss (like jumping out of a plane: seriously: ) grrrrrrr ...to top it all kids still sick and driving me mad with moaning now! can't wait for hubby to get home i'm leaving him to it for an hour to go read a book in a nice warm bath!!!!

Ok, so this is what happens when I let DH have the bank card......yesterday's spends are as follows: Halfords, £150 (ish haven't seen the receipt ) £20 cash from the machine to spend in co-0p on medicine for kids, squash and other bits. £20 again out  for chinese (kids were so ill yesterday i didn't have time to cook but still...) SO in just a few hours with my bank card he spent nearly £200

    I am not impressed!

So card, firmly back in my hands, am going to try and rectify some of the spending ...i was going to spend £25 on ink cartridges for printer on pay day, but instead used my paypal account and bought two re-furbished ones (take it they just refill them?) also was going to spend £15-20 on materials for finishing off sock monkeys (they are currently eye-less poor things) but instead used ebay/paypal account and got it for £12.99.....so saved myself nearly £40-45 there from pay. Still not impressed but these things happen i guess.

Need to set up a fb page to sell my monkeys again, i closed the one down from last year as i had chosen the wrong options, this time i'd like to see if i can actually set up a shop on there so people can buy there and then if i link to my paypal. I should be able to knock out around 50 monkeys by november and put them all up for sale at the same time. just need to work out costings and price them up now :) ALL of this money will be going into a savings account and only to be touched to take out money to pay for new materials.

Need to take pics of clothes for ebaying, got some winter stuff out now as weather seems colder (even though i'm sure i didn't imagine some weather person saying we were going to have a heat wave!?!??!)

The two little ones are still ill, only functioning properly when dosed up on calpol & nurofen. So no nursery today. Should also be a NSD (now i have extracted card from hubby).....we shall see though!

  • Right, well as seems to be my luck....just had an email from management agency re: tenants moving out. They have gone (suppose that is a start), however they have TRASHED my house :(. All carpets Badly stained, walls a mess, holes in walls, doors, dog smell everywhere, dog poo everywhere outside and mess :( really really could do without this right now. Wouldn't mind if i lived near the house so i could go see/sort some out for myself. But i don't. So need to try and claim money from them, if that fails i will have to pay for it myself :( not happy today!!!

    Good Morning DFW

Sorry to hear about the trouble that you've got with your ex tenants, why do people not look after things and treat over peoples property with respect?

Oh dear to DH going wild with the bank card, my DH is a bu**er for taking £20 out to pay for something specific which has been budgetted for, spending the £20 on himself and then needs to take out another £20 to cover the original expense. Then he gets really defensive, I earn the money, why can't I spend it attitude!

Hope your little ones are feeling better soon xxx

  • :wave:hi slm, hi choo

thanks for popping by :) i've decided to forget about the tenants, I am doing so well in myself this month, being positive and not feeling depressed I don't want something like this to bring me back down. SO am writing this off basically as a bad experience, I will pay for damages, I will make sure I am covered for next tenants going in (incase same happens AGAIN!) ...i have the emergency fund so i will use this & also the month's retainer fee I am due from the tenants who let me down :) I have emailed my dad to see if he knows someone that can go in and re-paint the entire house, clean the carpets and just give it a general once over where needed, and then it is done! Just to say I have put in a claim against the old tenants but as I have no proof of the condition of the house prior to them moving in if they dispute it I have no leg to stand on :( so am definitely not getting my hopes up on that one!

I have also been giving some serious thought to selling homemade things again (I did this last year very successfully, but the stress of it all and panic to get things finished and sent off in time really did my depression no favours.) So this year I am going to make the items and then sell as seen. No specialised orders, no panic? That's my theory anyway.....And I worked out if I can make £440 before christmas this will cover my mortgage for October/November...and hopefully i will have new tenants in by christmas to cover any more rent?!

I have a massive headache from stressing out and the kids are still ill -well ds2 is very ill, dd is only slightly ill so is more of a whinge! Tomorrow she is off to nursery whether she likes it or not! I'm sick of being stuck indoors!

need to find camera still to take ebay pics....have spent most the morning looking for it and it's disappeared into thin air! Oh well i'm sure it will turn up :A

  • O.K have been on to Te$co got completely frustrated as i couldn't find a free delivery code :rotfl:and spent at least 45 mins looking for one that worked!!! I only spent around 30 mins doing the shop :doh:i gave up in the end and ordered anyways! I have *hopefully* 2 weeks worth of shopping, I should only need things like fresh stuff & yoghurts in the second week....spent £87 including the £5.50 delivery charge  but got quite a lot of stuff so am happy. That comes on Friday on payday, and we have enough left to last till then, hardly anyone is eating in this house at the mo what with all the sickness going round :(!!

My ds1 got his parcel from me today :T so just as i ran out of credit to call him he can now ring me!

Have been deperately trying to find ways of saving money but i've done all the usual cutting sky, phone etc and not sure what to do now ....will ponder on this tonight....anyways kids finished in bath and dh calling me to help! Have a great evening all :A
