i think you are better off - just go back and look at that new years list you did. All of your emergency spends have come from real money and not credit cards. That in my books is an improvement
Happy 1st year anniversary for tomorrow
yes how easily i forget what i wrote
! And yay to no credit cards :T here's hoping i'll never need one, ever again!

I've just been reading a blog on minimilism (sp?) and although it is very inspiring I don't think I could do without my 'things' around me
I definitely want to de-clutter :j but getting rid of books, bits of furniture that don't serve a purpose....hmm...well I'm guilty of having these and much more. I have furniture that i don't really 'need' and could sell for debt etc but i don't want to. Some of these people on the blog had only a suitcase of belongings to show for 40+ years of being on this planet  I have 3 suitcases just full of baby memoribilia
:o:rotfl:
I've finished eating the flan (the kids hated it :rotfl: so i have been munching my way through it since i made it!)
We had jacket potato for dinner & the potato wasn't quite cooked through on mine as it was bigger than the kidsso only ate half of it lol.
Tomorrow, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday need to be NSD :rotfl::eek: not sure how i will manage that  i have around £7 in my purse so if i need something it will have to come out of that! £9 in the bank and another 2 DD's due next week for £50 so that is the chb gone in one fell swoop. Next week I am setting myself a challenge to live off the freezer & cupboards.
Then we still have a few days till pay day :wall: i'm praying i don't crack and empty out one of the savings pots for insurance or taxit really is rubbish being broke though
and it's much easier in the summer! I'm sick of the zoo & park now
anyone have any good 'free' ideas for keeping busy?!
Next month I am doing the envelope system again! Money out of bank on pay day for groceries, petrol, entertainment & anything else we need! Much easier that wayMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Oh no, it's late and I think I missed the party tonight:beer:,
On another note though, I am a bit of a hoarder too, well books, anything to do with the girls and I love to be surrounded by photos and setimental bits and bobs.Unfortunately the Pinot Residence is threatening to collapse by the weight of it all so I have been having a major decluttering . Lots of the girls favourite old books I can't bear to part with though, I am a sentimental old fool
I have been using the envelope system but I fancy upgrading to some pretty coloured jars nicely labelled, but in the current situation old dolmio jars may have to just do the trick ! X:)LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

morning all, just a quick post as i am running late already!
Well i'm still no closer to making a decision about ds1. Had an awful night's sleep last night, spent the entire night worrying & cryingI really want to exhaust all avenues of settling him in to school before i take him out though.
Anyway i missed the party too! *oops*
Off to take kids out. I can't sit staring at my hotmail inbox all day waiting for news on schools & ds1. DD is going to nursery, will take ds2 to a friends and then maybe a play group (free!)
Will be back later to update, but hoping for a NSD.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Sorry to hear the school situation is keeping you awake at night. Hope it is resolved soon. You are doing the best you can with exploring all the avenues available.
I used to hoard everything, kids baby shoes, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on birthday cards, first christmas cards, their first coat, the list is endless. They were all kept in the loft then when we moved to this house we had a really good sort out and have only kept a medium sized storage box each. I keep adding things to it, like swimming badges, football medals etc, I've taught myself that you can't keep everything (even though I'm sure given half a chance I would!!). Now the house is quite minimalistic........garage, shed and loft overflowing mind you but I find it much easier to cope with now. We will attack the garage etc once the spring is here. Hoping to do some good carboots to raise some funds.
Hope you have a chilled out trip to play group. Keep your chin up.xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

afternoon all
Not a nsd, i spent £1.90 on sweets & kit kats
I've been doing the housework all afternoon, praying that the answer would come to me for DS1 school situation. Had the radio on and all of a sudden my ears picked up on the song playing! After googling some words from it to see who it was, and what the rest of the words were-i'm not very 'up' on music! I found out it was Katie Perry....and these were the words that i heard:
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
drifting through the wind
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
like a house of cards,
one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
'Cause there's a spark in you
You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time, you'll know
You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, Oh, Oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through-ough-ough
'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, Oh, Oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, Oh, Oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
Well you probably all think i'm nutsbut it really 'spoke' to me at the exact minute i was begging for an answer. I think it's saying go with my gut, and the closed doors, being the schools we both wouldn't mind him applying to round here but over subscribed. My gut is telling me take him out. So i think i know i have made up my mind, but being indecisive as i am i'm going to wait until the weekend.
I've already applied for an application from local council. I've also looked up extra curricular things to do. And i've been reading up on appeals. I also know i can get out of re-paying back all the school fees to the MOD if i get a letter from the counsellor stating he's not happy with the school :T
Of course my feelings are subject to change like the wind, so don't hold me to thisFeeling sick with worry though and my ibs has been chronic over the last few days

Oh I love that song ! Its our happy jolly yourself along song, where we all jump around the room singing as loudly as we can ! Mr Pinot usually gets dragged into the madness as well ! I can see how the words meant something, maybe it was a sign !
I'm glad that if you decide to take him out of school that you wont need to pay back the fees, if you can get the letter, that make a decision easier / but then again maybe not . I'm guessing you wont really know until after the weekend ?
Keep Smiling........all will be resolved soon x:DLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hello DFW and happy bulbiversary:D
I really hope you don't take him out of school and then later regret it. Which decision are you more likely to regret in the long run?
Only you know, you know what's best for him, it must be such a hard decision:(Debt £26k 18/10/140
