  • You sound so positive and full of beans now! It's so good to read that, I was really concerned about you a few days ago. That vid on here of the man with no limbs really helped me. After all, what's a bit of debt compared to that? Have a good day Sim with lots of progress. x :T

  • I hope things just keep improving from here on in.

Like every person, you have something to add to this world and your life is not only worthwhile but precious. Please give it some time while things work out.

Having a place to live is top priority so you could ring Shelter, the housing charity, for free and sympathetic advice. I think they will understand you need action fast. They can tell you where to get more help with money problems, too. Their number is: 0808 800 4444.
  • Just popping by again. I want to say more but work beckons. I hope you are now seeing the world in a different light now that its a few days on from original post!! We can read about a different bloke from our perspective! We are all so proud of you - a big pat on the back Sim.......bye for now

Hi just caught up with this thread. You are doing so well Sim.

I hope all went well at GP and he could offer some help.

I dont know where you are but in my town we have a drug and alcohol advisory service. If you have something similar they may be able to offer practical support. Also our local psychiatric team (dont panic they are for people with drug/ alcohol/ dression etc)run open drop in sessions where you can just chat and have a coffee. Might be worth seeing if there is anything similar near you.

I hope all continues to be on the up. There are a lot of people here routing for you.
  • Hi Sim, just checked back to see how its going. Hope you appointment went OK.

  • Thanks Puzzcat.

I'm really trying to keep my feelings / money seperate, but it's hard isn't it when one feels guilty for how much money / time one has wasted.

My determination is slowly coming back though

    xx

at this stage, guilt isn't going to help you. in fact, it will only make you feel worse. there will be time in the future for you to deal with your guilt and the reasons for it. right now, you just need to focus on getting on your feet. you're alive, the sky is still blue and the sun still shines. everything is possible, no matter what's gone before, tomorrow is what counts, and the day after that, and the day after that. take each moment as it comes. don't scare yourself with the enormity of your situation. tackle each minute, each hour by itself, each debt, each task, one by one. you will succeed. you will be happy again.
carve your name in red. the silver slipping and slicing. rose petals blossom and fall. soul steals away.
