Eating too many calories makes you fat, not specifically McDonalds, KFC, etc.
I could eat 4,000 calories of high-end French haute cuisine, 4,000 calories of pasta, 4.0000 calories of vegetables or 4,000 calories of KFC - a calorie is a calorie.
Portion sizes mean that it is perhaps easier to eat a high number of calories in a smaller volume of food with takeaways/fast food, but to be fair, a portion of "gratin dauphinoise avec Comte" as cooked by several million households across france is pretty calorific.
And my BMI is 22, before anyone asks.
True. Weight is about calories.
But being thin is not the same as being healthy or having low body fat.
You can have a low BMI and have a high percentage of body fat, or a higher BMI but a larger percentage of muscle.
A thin person who spends all day on the couch eating crisps and takeaways (but is thin because they don't eat much of them) is not healthier than a slightly overweight (by BMI standards) person who eats healthy foods (which contain vitamins and other nutrients) but eats more of them, and exercises every day or has a physically demanding job.

McDonalds don't use Monosodium glutamate and their food is tasty
That is a matter of opinion.
I find mcdonalds to be quite tasteless.and Chinese take-aways have to use it to make their food tasty.
A common misconception.
The Chinese adapted their food to the tastes of the target market and that market, in this country, tended to like things with a lot of salt/MSG.
If you eat well prepared Chinese food it will have a lot less salt/MSG and is far superior to some of the cheaper high street takeaways. And certainly a million miles from the junk you get at mcdonalds. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

the fact you find it tasteless is a matter of opinion too.
The fact remains McDonalds don't use the flavour enhancer MSG.
next time you are in your local chinese takeaway ask them for their position on organic and free-range.
Try it, suspect they would look at you like you are mad...........0 -
If MSG were truly bad for you (rather than just deemed so by hysterical Daily Wail articles), it would be banned the world over. Every food licensing agency in every country that bothers licensing food additives allows it. Some people might be particularly sensitive to glutamates, just as some people can't eat nuts, or eggs, or gluten. Perhaps they're best to avoid MSG and foods high in naturally occurring glutamates, e.g. soy. But let's not pretend it's bad for everyone - there's simply no evidence to suggest that's the case."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Obviously. The clues was where I said: "I find mcdonalds ...".The fact remains McDonalds don't use the flavour enhancer MSG.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Eating nothing but McDonalds would indeed be bad for you. Eating nothing but oranges would be bad for you. What's your point?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
