I can say this without a shadow of doubt as my Daughter works there .
I think they must do some pre-cooking on site though - last time I went in and ordered an Angus Burger, it was delivered to me in a couple of minutes - no way was that long enough to actually cook a burger from raw.0 -

They cook them all the time based on the known average customer quantity at the time of day - they then leave them wrapped above the heater to stay warm. If their guesses of customer numbers are correct you won't wait long and the burger will be almost straight from the grill. Must be a very complex thing to run to get the compromise right. In that respect I have to say BK and KFC have always done better than McDs, I've been waiting for nigh on 20 mins a McDs before from ordering - not exactly FAST food.Trev. anyone had any problems with kfc service
Yes. Its an absolute disgrace.
First up I tried to ring and reserve a table, but the man on the other end of the phone said I couldn't do that and I'd just have to turn up! Shocking! I tried it and luckily they had a table available for me so - next problem, there was no one at the door to direct me to a table (I wanted a booth) so after waiting for a few minutes tapping my winkle pickers in impatience I had to give in and just go and find my booth myself! Luckily there was one available so I went to sit in it and would you believe it! Some rascal had left the detritus of their meal on the seat and the waiting staff had yet to clear it up! Astounding really isn't it? I gestured in some annoyance to the waiting staff but was roundly ignored, so I had no option but to get out one of my gloves and brush the offending items onto the floor - horrific!
When I had finally seated myself, imagine my horror - no menus! How am I to choose my meal! And the waiter had still not made his/her presence known so I had to wait. And wait. And no one came! Ultimately after 20 minutes I was forced to go to some manner of serving counter in the corner and catch the eyes of the scallywags behind it - I gave them the angriest piece of my mind about the service in this establishment, but would you believe it, the fellow simply stared at me blankly - almost as if English was not his first language! I mean I was astounded, a man of such low intellect obtaining gainful employment.
Eventually I managed to make it clear that I wished to order a melon ball starter, followed by seared yellowfin tuna in a balsamic lemongrass jus, followed by a piece of Pavlova - as it turned out the oik behind the counter informed that I must purchase some manner of chicken based edible, I mean really! Chicken! I'm not foreign, why would I want chicken. When he told me it was cooked with a secret recipe of herbs and spices, invented by some colonel I felt a little mroe at ease (the army are known for their quality spices). I ended up ordering some manner of 'ZINGER' chicken dish, so I returned to my booth to await the staff - after another 20 minutes, the gentleman who had been gesticulating from behind the serving counter finally came over and very nearly threw a dismal plastic tray littered with carboard boxes and a rather offensive smell - I mean the shock! Upon inspection this turned out to be my meal, so I strode in disgust to the counter to request some cutlery - would you credit it, I was expected to eat with my hands!
Well. I got quite irate and let my vexation be known. The policeman who asked me to leave was very pleasant though.0 -
Whenever I think about popping in to KFC I always think back to the day that I read this:-
http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/u-ukkfc.asp
From the UK’s Sunday Mirror, August 31, 2003:
Journalist Martin Coutts gives the details of a lengthy undercover investigation conducted into a Premier Foods chicken farm, one of the UK’s largest chicken producers and known KFC supplier. The investigators, working in conjunction with an undercover team from Hillside Animal Sanctuary, shot extensive video footage of the conditions on this factory farm. Here are some descriptions of the cruelty they uncovered:- “There are more than 36,000 chickens here in huge windowless sheds. The conditions they have to endure during their short, brutal lives are so horrific it defies belief.”
- “Some birds are so lame and deformed they can only drag themselves to the food and water troughs by their wings. Others stand motionless, too dazed or dying to move.”
- “In one shed where chickens had been taken away for slaughter there were dozens of carcasses littering the floor. In another – where scores of birds had died – their remains were being picked over by other chickens.”
- “One investigator who shot a secret film there said: ‘I have investigated animal welfare for many years, but this easily ranks amongst some of the worst cruelty I have seen.’” KFC claims to have animal welfare standards in place which cover “all chicken intended to be sold at KFC,” but such words are meaningless when they allow hideous abuses to take place. And Premier Foods won the “KFC Supplier of the Year Award” in January of 2001. If this level of abuse represents the best of what KFC suppliers have to offer, imagine what other farms allow!
If you fancy being put off for life, it's well worth a look.
Just to mention, I love chicken as much as the next chicken muncher and used to visit KFC regularly.
I Just prefer to get a decent free range bird and chop and cook it myself after seeing how the birds are treated.
Oh, and their beans always have a "skin" on top from being sat warming all day.0 -

Depending on the time of day and how many customers they have in the store , they cook the burgers in batches. The loopy one has gone :j0 -

Have to agree , my two youngest kids love mcd's and any time i take them there we are waiting at leat 10 mins to be served !
They also (here) have a strange way of serving in which one person takes about 10 orders and then someone else is running around grabbing everything and traying it up....would work quite well if the right food was put onto the right tray....The loopy one has gone :j0 -
They only ever have 1 apple pie in the tray in McDs as well, even though they have 2 for 99p (?), we've ordered 2 before, been told we'd have to wait 15 mins, we saw them bring out 1, yes ONE more apple pie after 15 mins, and at exactly the same time another oik grabbed the one waiting for us to give to another customer!!! So we had to wait another 15 mins for another ONE pie to be cooked - idiots.Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!

Is that you waiting 30 mins for an apple pie, or the staff for following company procedures then?0
