Sky, being whiter than white in the sexism debate, wouldn't appreciate the fact that anyone notices if another person is good looking. That's why all of the female presenters on Sky Sports News are so ugly....hang on..........

Haha - too true. Except of course Kenny Dalglish's daughter, who was appalled at the sexist comments. She doesn't mind a bit of nepotism though I should imagine

Yeah Burton said 'there is a female lino this week' then said the camera man said she was a bit of a looker, then him and gray discussed if they would 'do her' or 'give her one' or similar. Seriously no worse than you hear in a pub on a saturday night.

I just think its a bit of a oooo we must not be sexist, we must not be sexist over reaction from male executives wanting to be seen as doing 'something' when really they have just shown themselves, imo, to be equally out of touch with general public feeling. It like in the attempt to appear to be PC they have been anything but.

As a female I could not care less if you find me attractive, I would hope you were polite about expressing this but hey upbringing and all that. Crudeness IMO is not sexist. As a woman I know I can reverse, parallel park, I know a choke is not to hang my handbag on, rear view mirror not for applying lipgloss etc etc. I know the offside rule and your more likely to find me swearing at a referee through the TV than my husband who thinks an offside trap is something to do with plumbing ;)

My lust for Jonny Depp is well known, don't particularly fancy the latest diet coke man on the adverts but wish we had him to fill the vending machine than the pot bellied middle aged bloke that does. Does that make me sexist?

Women work in male dominated enviroments all the time. They deal with the dinosaurs and prove they are up to the job all the time. They do not need a 'knight in shining armour' to trample in and rescue them like a damsell in distress. Sian Massey did her job, she had to withdraw from last nights match due to the contraversy. Just let the woman do her job.

Oh and yes I think she is quite pretty actually.

    Well said!

I don't think the Andy Burton comments were even as bad as that though - he said "he says she's a bit of a looker.....I don't know whether to trust his judgement or not". Gray then took over with the old "no, I've seen her.....women don't understand the offside rule". If anything Burton was degrading his colleague by saying "he didn't know whether to trust his opinion". Could this have been a reference to the guy who said the comments wife??? In that case Andy Burton is a sexist and should be stoned for his comments.

Most importantly, can we have a debate on who is going to take Gray's job? My vote would be Ray Wilkins; I remember his days on Channel 4s Football Italia in the 90s. Excellent sense of humour, knowledgeable and, wait for it bearing in mind he used to be a footballer, INTELLIGENT. I kid you not.

Good call. I remember once there was a prize of a case of red wine for a competition. The commentator said "that should last your average Italian a week" [racist by the way!], to which Wilkins replied "or Gazza an afternoon". Genius.

Our 'midwife' was a man - he did a super job, though being the first time didn't have any other experience! I would have complained if he was giving me a smug grin whilst... well, you know what.. with my fiancee.

Of all the appalling ref decisions, the majority, if not 99.9% of them have come from men - and that's statistics talking, so I'm happy for women to come in and do a better job!

Actually what do you call a male 'midwife' Midhusband?? Baby delivery expert? Have I just made a sexist comment? :rotfl:

Actually I think I am sexist as I have often told my husband this week that if the childbirth part was up to him our oldest would be an only child. His response.... when you cutting those tallons :eek::rotfl:

I recall that women were lobbying for access to the MCC.
relaly what rights do they have for that, it's a "Mens Cricket Club".
There's nothing stopping them having a WCC

It's a Marylebone Cricket Club. Don't know who 'Mary Le Bone' was. Skinny Frenchwoman perhaps?

On a serious point, have you seen Richard Keys latest comments to Redknapp? Ouch.

What is interesting is the fact Sky have obviously been compiling a dossier on both Gray and Keys, if I was a frontman for Sky I'd be pretty worried right now.
  • I have a really important question on this subject. It raises all sorts of issues, and I feel that I won't fully be able to rest until I get the answer. When did Richard Keys start shaving his hands?

Were they down the pub, or broadcasting a sports program to the nation?

    edit:
I am (annoying) feeling a little PC over this, being offended on someone else's behalf, but regardless of sexism, it's just not polite.
Down the pub, ok, but broadcast on TV it's just crass and rude, and an embarrassment to the male gender.

They were talking about an ex-girlfriend. Key's comments were akin to a teenager down the pub, if it had been about Redknapp's wife he'd probably have chinned him.
